Hi! I'm trying to optimize mine too. I have played with it some few games now, I think he just needs to stick around to be able to do what is intended. So I use spells like Inspiring Call and Heroic Intervention. I'm still in the process of improving my deck so I don't know what to suggest for now.

Thanks for the comment! Sticking around is why I added thing like Swiftfoot Boots, but more may be necessary...

Agreed with Pandavs, I'd also stick an isochron scepter in here. Throw blossoming defense, inspiring call, heroic intervention, etc on it, and bam. Safety stick.

Everflowing Chalice acts as ramp and a kicker trigger

Comet Storm can be a game winner, or a board wipe, but it's also a kicker spell

Mold Shambler is removal and a trigger

Molten Disaster is an uncounterable trigger/ board wipe

Verdeloth the Ancient creates a big board with enough mana

A lot of bad kicker spells out there, but these are all semi playable.

I'd stay away from +1/+1 stuff because you're missing some crucial cards in white.

One thing that might be interesting with this commander is Cloudstone Curio or Erratic Portal. Bounce and replay kicker creatures into the win.

Yeah, So...In the last 24 hours, I did a bunch of work on this deck, proxied a bunch of it up, took it for a spin in front of a goldfish bowl, and I discovered I needed to make some changes.

For one, I had too many kicker spells. They are easily the weakest part of the deck, vital and important that they may be. Two, I needed some card draw. Three, well, just some other thoughts that came to me while I was working...

Blood Clock - Breath of Darigaaz - Chandra's Ignition - Decimate - Keen Sense - Loxodon Warhammer - Momentous Fall - Opal Palace - Rishkar's Expertise - Sunbird's Invocation - Vigor(I want to try this, though it is the only expensive card I don't already own for the deck, it's worth more than the rest of what I don't have combined...)
