The Khans block is my favorite block of all time, as I started seriously playing during then, so the sets hold a special place in my heart. I always try to fit in some cards from this block in all my decks, and I decided to pay some more homage by building a whole deck only using cards from the block.

My commander choices were pretty limited, as there are only 24 legendary creatures across the 3 sets (Dragons of Tarkir, Khans of Tarkir, and Fate Reforged) and using a mono-colored creature was pretty much fruitless because of the smaller card pool. Luckily, there are two legendary creatures for each tri-color clan which opens up some more options. I ended up choosing Narset mainly because I wanted a deck that didn't rely too heavily on having my commander on the field and could work well without her. I considered Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest but ultimately decided against it because I think the deck would rely on him too much. Narset lends herself better to a goodstuff deck which is hard NOT to do with such a smaller card pool than usual.

The theme of this deck is basically using prowess and other noncreature spell synergies. It has the potential to go wide and swing in with a huge board, being buffed up my prowess and team pump effects ( Great Teacher's Decree , Trumpet Blast , etc.). Narset's attack trigger works especially well with prowess and the like because I get to cast the cards before damage goes through, giving me time to trigger prowess and stuff like Jeskai Ascendancy . This deck also has a small dragon sub-theme. I thought it would be flavorful as well as provide some backup support, as the dragons are mostly pretty good by themselves. (And quite frankly, there weren't that many other options that were better)

While complete, this is the first draft of this deck and will be always changing it up because I can see cards moving in and out of this deck pretty easily with little repercussions. As a little note, I am only not running fetches because I wanted this deck to be budget, but I would definitely just replace some basics for them.
