Unbroken Kerrick (K'rrik) focusing on life-gain, devotion, & devotion/swamps-matter themes with some old-school flavor.

Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose/Sanguine Bond/Defiant Bloodlord + Soul Conduit/Magus of the Mirror :: First, use life as a resource until you have less than half of an opponent's life total. Then trade life totals to bring opponent down at least halfway, and you can kill them with the Sanguine Bond effect trigger.

Pestilence Demon + Shadowspear/Loxodon Warhammer + Sanguine Bond effect :: Pestilence activation will deal 1 damage to everything, which triggers 1 life gain per target, which then triggers 1 life loss per target.

(?) SWAMPS MATTER/DEVOTION: Revised Nightmare is my favorite MTG card, and was the original reason for wanting to build mono-black. The ramp suite does what it can to put swamps into play, and even includes Herald of Leshrac to take other players' swamps - and the non-swamps can be converted with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.

(?) VAMPIRES: Blood Tribute looks cool, and Gifted Aetherborn, Vampire Nighthawk, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Twilight Prophet, Nirkana Revenant, Butcher of Malakir & Defiant Bloodlord are all on-theme anyway.

(?) ARISTOCRATS: Go deeper into Bitterblossom & Grave Pact? Key acquisitions would include Dreadhorde Invasion, Dark Prophecy, Dictate of Erebos, Butcher of Malakir, & Abhorrent Overlord.

(?) OVERPOWERED: Debating Ancient Tomb, Mana Crypt, Sensei's Divining Top, Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Aetherflux Reservoir, Liliana Vess, & Sorin Markov. Removed Contamination & Triskelion.
