Do you like drawing cards? Do you like keeping 1-Land hands and almost never having to mulligan? This might be the deck for you then. Turns out it's pretty easy to get Kefnet the Mindful swinging on turn 4, but in a creature-based deck?!

Ixalan Deck Update: This deck has only gotten better with the addition of Vraska's Contempt and Hostage Taker, both of which can be game winners on their own. Card advantage and mana pool has been improved by the addition of Fetid Pools. An additional Blossoming Defense has been added to protect our Hostage Taker until we can cast the targeted card, or used on our new powerhouse that synergizes with almost all of our creatures: The Scarab God.

Line of play:

Turn 1: 7 cards, play a land down to 6. Attune with Aether. 2 Energy.

Turn 2. Draw up to 7, play a land down to 6 again. Glint-Sleeve Siphoner down to 5 cards. 3 Energy.

Turn 3: Draw from Glint-Sleeve Siphoner up to 6, draw-for-turn to 7. Drop Kefnet the Mindful with a land down to 5.

Turn 4: Draw twice again up to 7 cards, swing with Kefnet the Mindful and hopefully drop Rhonas the Indomitable. The other option is to drop a land down to 6 after attacking, then using Kefnet the Mindful's ability to draw back up to 7, bounce a swamp, and then use a Revolt-activated Fatal Push.

(If you end up on the draw this scenario works even better.)

This deck is based around two core creatures: Kefnet the Mindful and Rhonas the Indomitable, who love each other on the battlefield.

Kefnet the Mindful turns on Rhonas the Indomitable, crews vehicles, is a mana-sink for card draw, allows bouncing lands on the field to enable Revolt for Fatal Push by choosing a Swamp and replaying it (Can you say VALUE?!). Even when you're not at a full 7 in-hand, this guy is a boss.

Every card in this deck either draws multiple cards or at least replaces itself so that you're easily able to swing with Kefnet the Mindful.

Try playtesting this deck with the button on the left. It's very easy to maintain a near-full hand size for when you pull Kefnet the Mindful. 18 cards in this deck provide some form of card advantage. I've found that the insane card advantage this deck has combined with a low curve allows you to simply grind out your opponent until they run out of steam. This seems to work pretty well against control decks.
