My latest attempt to make red a viable color in EDH: Kazuul Control.

Priority #1 is to stick a "creatures must attack" effect, with Kazuul providing a powerful incentive for your opponents to send their creatures at each other rather than you. Add in some damage amplification and the precious few control offerings in red, and baby, you got a stew going!

  • Boots + Plate are to keep Kazuul alive. Without him, everyone's first choice on where to send attackers will be the asshole forcing them to attack.
  • Notable exclusions: pure chaos effects and group slug effects that can't be leveraged to advantage me.
  • Cards I would play if they weren't prohibitively expensive: Gauntlet of Might, Forcefield
