For about a year and a half I have been tinkering with this deck trying to see what the problem was. My previous commander in this deck was Kozilek, the Great Distortion, so I knew that this deck needed a lot of mana and needed to slow down my opponents to the point that I don't die before he comes out. I ran a ton of mana rocks so that wasn't the problem. The deck has a high curve so it needs some control elements to it, but that didn't help. No matter what I did to improve the deck I could never do anything until turn 4 or 5 which generally left me struggling to survive. Turn's out all I needed to do was change my commander. Thanks to Karn, Silver Golem's manageable CMC and second effect to put my mana rocks to work, he cleans up a lot of the dead space this deck was suffering from.
