Eggs! They are nutritious and delicious

The eggs deck is a deck format that utilizes cracking cards (eggs) to draw cards then returning them with Faith's Reward , then going for the kill.

I will include my own tutorial here but this post will do a much better job https://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/deck-creation-modern/804654-eggs

This deck uses artifacts called eggs which can be cracked for effects. They are:

Chromatic Star is considered one of the most popular eggs, and is quite useful. It allows for color fixing, plus it gives a card draw each cycle for free.

Chromatic Sphere serves as another version of Chromatic Star , except the card draw is a part of the ability, which makes it slightly worse, as Chromatic Star can be discarded or sacrificed to Reshape .

Elsewhere Flask costs one more to cast than the other eggs, but gives you a card draw when you cast it or when it is reclaimed from the graveyard, and its sacrifice ability allows for color fixing.

Conjurer's Bauble acts as a card draw egg, while in the early game it can be used to add cards back to the deck, and once you draw your deck it allows Faith's Reward to be recycled.

Lotus Bloom is the combo piece for mana, as it creates three mana of a color per cycle, allowing for infinite with more than one. It should be played from Reshape or Whir of Invention (both x = 0) as it puts them on board without waiting for suspend. If it is in hand it can be discarded with Chart a Course then recovered with Open the Vaults .

Eggs should then be recalled in bulk after they have been cracked.

The deck also houses support spells, and of course the recycling spells.

Faith's Reward is the primary recycling card, as it casts for 3 and a white. It grabs all permanents, which includes Ghost Quarter and lands destroyed with it, allowing all lands to be pulled from your deck. In a pinch it could be used to recover combo pieces, but Silence would cover combo hate.

Open the Vaults is the backup Faith's Reward , as it costs two more mana to cast, and does not fetch lands. It does, however, not require the turn limit, which allows recovery of eggs cracked on previous turns.

Chart a course is a convenient draw two, plus its discard can be used to put a Lotus Bloom into the graveyard, though to recover it would require an Open the Vaults .

Noxious Revival is a useful utility card that can put a Faith's Reward back on top of your library for two life. this is useful when the combo has not fully fired to get more casts of Faith's Reward .

Reshape is a useful card for gathering a Lotus Bloom . Sacrifice a Chromatic Star to get the card draw, or another egg for the effect.

Serum Visions is a useful card draw/filtering spell that only costs one blue mana

Silence is a useful card that can be cast to stop the opponent from meddling in your breakfast making.

Because of the nature of Eggs not many lands are required. The above tutorial recommends 15-20 lands, and includes some expensive fetch lands. The fetch lands would act in the same way as Ghost Quarter , but I have found the space is better filled with more spells.

Ghost quarter is a useful land, as it can be tapped and sacrificed to sacrifice a tapped land to fetch a new land. Both sacrificed lands can then be recovered with Faith's Reward

As the majority of spells are blue, islands will be the base land.

While the deck features color fixing, I have found having one plains is useful for casting Silence or Faith's Reward

The eggs deck has various win conditions, such as Pyrite Spellbomb to hit for 1 damage a cycle, but I chose to go for an alternate win condition instead.
  • 1x Ashnod's Coupon Ashnod's Coupon is this decks' win condition. You can use one every cycle to make your opponent get you a drink, and they should concede to avoid getting them. Normally you have to pay, but R&D's Secret Lair makes them pay.

  • 1x card:R&D's Secret Lair R&D's Secret Lair is the second combo piece, a land that makes it so opponents have to buy the drinks.

If your opponent does not want to play against un-cards swap in the spellbomb and the land. Every cycle crack the spell bomb for damage until you kill the opponent.

Thank you for checking out my silly deck.

PS - I have very little experience with sideboards, and as such have not included one. Any advice is welcome :)
