A lot has changed over the Duel-Commander landscape, many bans were put in place concerning Zurgo, and I had stepped away for that reason, as well as DC not firing in my area anymore shortly after these bans. But, I've now resurfaced, new changes in effect and I can confidently say this deck is better than ever (though still, RIP Fireblast. sniff )

RIP Zurgo, you'll be missed. Deck updated to reflect the banlist announcement. Kari Zev switches places with Zurgo. Two drops are gonna be super awkward if they compete with Kari Zev, so I adapted to fit more ones and the lightning serpent is the flex spot that can fill anywhere on your curve. You can still play two drops, but note the floor is gonna be incredibly high to justify going off curve for them.
