                         --Under Construction -- Introduction

I love Kamigawa. I love that it is inspired by Japanese culture amongst other things. Therefore, I wanted to make a commander deck that utilized Kamigawa and it's mechanics. It came down to two Spirit Tribal themes, I could either go W/B/U and go a more pump all my Spirits but this felt more Innistrad in nature, or I could have gone W/U/G and do a "Spiritcraft" theme. The thing that made the decision for me was Karador, Ghast Chieftain. He was a Spirit too so everything just fit into place.

This deck focuses around "Spiritcrafting" (rather than Soulshift). "Spiritcraft" is the term used in Kamigawa for when you play/cast a Spirit or Arcane spell, something happens. As a consequence nearly every creature in this deck is a spirit, and as for arcane ... well there's a few.

"But ..." you cry, "what happens when your "spiritcraft" creatures are dead!". Even better! Naturally, in Kamigawaese magic, these spirits don't stay in the graveyard for long, rather it actually helps you. This is where Karador, Ghost Chieftain comes in. Karador, Ghost Chieftain costs less when creatures are in your graveyard, so this deck has many sack outlets to make him cheaper, it also means that any removal your own creatures will help you. Karador, Ghost Chieftain comes with an extra bonus. You get to cast a creature from your graveyard once per turn, that means that 1) you get a creature back from the graveyard and 2) this triggers all of your 'spiritcraft' shenanigans for extra value!

Of course spirits can't survive on 'spiritcraft' alone so I've employed the help of some powerful spirits that Karador, Ghost Chieftain has met on his little trip to this corner of the Multiverse. Naturally, it is also in the nature of Kamigawa for many creatures to be legendary so the deck comes with a small legendary sub-theme, utilizing powerful legendary spirits.

Now I will take you through a tour of some of the cards and shenanigans of the deck. Enjoy!

                        --Theme: Spiritcraft --

Elder Pine of Jukai : This is a great for mana ramping. The fact that you get to put all land cards, not just basic land cards means that you can get everything from Cavern of Souls to basic Forest.

Haru-Onna/ Nikko-Onna : These two Onna's are very good for triggering multiple spiritcrafts, cause you can play them over and over again. One lets you draw a bunch of cards and one lets you destroy all those pesky enchantments.

Kami of the Waning Moon : Do not underestimate the power of fear/evasion. This Kami is excellent when you need to get through those extra points of damage.

Innocence Kami : Initially, I wanted to take Innocence Kami out of the deck because I didn't think it as that good, until it won me the game by perpetually tapping down the opponents commander. The fact that you can trigger this multiple times is also a plus.

Petalmane Baku : If you play enough spirits you get to cast something for free. Its a great mana-ramper and also extra mana.

Oyobi, Who Split the Heavens : 3/3 flyer for every Spirit I play, yes please. A 3/6 flyer is solid too!

Door of Destinies: While not strictly a 'spiritcraft' card, it very well should be. Each spirit you play pumps up you team and this deck has 41 spirits + commander. One of the most powerful cards in the deck!
