This is my adaptation of a Karador, Ghost Chieftain EDH with emphasis on stax effects for the main win condition. Most of the time this deck uses reanimator combos to get powerful stax engines such as Sheoldred, Whispering One and Butcher of Malakir online as soon as possible to keep creatures at bay. Once your opponents creatures are completely wiped out you can start removing other permanents with group slug with cards such as World Queller and Braids, Cabal Minion . Finally when there are only lands in play this deck uses utility lands such as Strip Mine to finish off your opponents. This deck also uses a slew of reanimator effects such as Meren of Clan Nel Toth , Emeria, The Sky Ruin and/or Crucible of Worlds to make sure the group slug don't hit you as badly as your opponents.

Play this deck if you like.... stax effects, land destruction, utility lands, tutors, graveyard play/reanimator effects, tutors, combos, group slug and playing control decks.

-Disclaimer-

I know technically Braids, Cabal Minion is banned in the commander format. However my regular playgroup agreed that the ruling to remove the banned as commander list and make only one ban list was stupid. Braids, Cabal Minion is definitely not overpowered as part of the 99 and is a favorite of mine. However, if I am playing with a new play group I will replace her with Savra, Queen of the Golgari .

Paris Mulligan Show

Many of the combos in this deck rely on retrieving creatures from your graveyard. Karador, Ghost Chieftain is able to retrieve creatures from your graveyard but several other cards in this deck are able to do that as well but more efficiently. Playing Karador, Ghost Chieftain shouldn't be your first priority, assembling combos should be, so just play them as soon as you find it fit. In your opening hand go for; 3-5 lands/ramp cards, 2-4 other good cards noted bellow and/or other cards that make up potentially powerful combos.

Notable Cards Show

( Sheoldred, Whispering One ) is a fantastic card in EDH but shines especially bright in this deck. It punishes your enemy with creature stax and also provides your with a recursion engine. Two things this deck needs to operate properly.

( Loyal Retainers ) easily cheats some of the most deadly creatures this deck has into play.

( Buried Alive ) fodders your graveyard with food for Karrador, the Ghost Chieftain (000). Easily the best tutor in this deck.

( Razaketh, the Foulblooded ) lets you tutor up multiple cards and doubles as a sac outlet. Not to mention they are easily cheated into play with Loyal Retainers .

( Survival of the Fittest ) is the best tutor engine in this deck. Lets you tutor for Sheoldred, Whispering One then toss it into your graveyard to tutor Loyal Retainers which can let you immediately play Sheoldred, Whispering One as soon as turn 4. Then you can dump other powerhouse creatures into your graveyard which can also be cheated into play. Fauna Shaman is almost as good but can only be activated once per turn.

( Weathered Wayfarer ) guarantees you your 1 land drop a turn and lets you tutor up a large roster of utility lands including Krosan Verge , Strip Mine and Emeria, The Sky Ruin .

( Knight of the Reliquary ) is good for the same reasons as Weathered Wayfarer . Also combos very nicely with Crucible of Worlds or Ramunap Excavator .

( Ramunap Excavator ) almost always ensures a land drop a turn and combos nicely with many cards in this deck such as Verdant Catacombs and Strip Mine . Crucible of Worlds is an almost equally good alternative but is harder to bring back from the yard if removed.

( Birthing Pod ) is a reusable tutor that runs at max efficiency once it gets Sheoldred, Whispering One into play. Below are all the creatures listed by mana cost to make this card easier to operate.
