Hey TappedOut,

This is my Kami deck. There have been various iterations of this over the years I've been playing EDH and this is the most current one.

It holds its own in a pod by being unassuming "group hug" protecting itself from any major threats (with counters or Venser, Shaper Savant ) but then when ready, it combos off hard (with the obvious stuff).

Omniscience

In my playgroup, this card gets hated on far too much. Personal choice whether you want it in or not, but we have Dream Halls for a similar effect.

Force of Will

Something you can have in if you have the $$$, I haven't put it in because I don't own one.

Well of Ideas

I've left this out because we already have in Dictate of Kruphix, Kami himself, Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora. At 6cmc it's quite high, but again, personal preference.

Playing Kami means you're going to see a hell of a lot more of your deck than you usually would if you were playing something else. He only costs UU, which means you can consistently get away with starting off with a 2 land hand and draw into some more. Your opponents will end up "wasting" a lot of their extra draws on lands they can't play. That's the theory, at least!

Seriously, when you put him down, everyone thinks that he is Lighthouse Chronologist . When they read him, no one is that impressed with his ability because it costs a lot. However, he gets a special mention because there will be turns when you're just not using the mana you have open, so you can dump it into him. People will be reluctant casting anything that will remotely target you (i.e. Worst Fears or Cruel Ultimatum ) as you can literally do it back twice as bad.

He is a useful defensive piece and very unassuming. He also looks like Kanye.

You're going to get opponents trying to take advantage of the fact you draw so much; they might try to mill you out for the last of your cards. The Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is pretty much non-negotiable here. It's much needed protection against these philistines who want to see you lose. The reminder is here so you don't forget in the heat of battle after being Traumatize d or something :). Beware the Tormod's Crypt in response to the Kozilek graveyard trigger.
...actually is a bird (wizard). Nimble Obstructionist is one of the most underrated cards ever IMHO. Kaalia of the Vast player just tutored Master of Cruelties ? Sorry beautiful, not today. Tormod's Crypt about to exile your Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and prevent that sweet graveyard shuffle? Nah, no danger. Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder trying to hit you for a cheeky 5 damage so he can combo off by cascading his whole library? Birdy says no. Best part is? You get to draw a card of the cycle whilst doing it (unlike Stifle or Disallow ).

It's still a WiP, any comments are appreciated! If you like what you see, or something made you smile (or frown in disgust), drop a +1 :)
