Considering a strengthened stax/control package —July 25, 2016
I'd like to find room for:
And possibly Chainer, Dementia Master.
The creature recursion is a little weak in this deck, and the control package is almost exclusively focused on creature control. This has worked for the decks I've played against so far, but a spellslinger or fast-combo deck would eat me alive. Smokestack and Contamination can deal with non-creature threats.
Magus of the Abyss gives me a way to do an extra sacrifice per turn if I have a Grave Pact effect online, and also forces opponents to destroy a creature every turn. With multiple pieces on the board at once, I'd have a pretty decent soft lock. This is similar in effect to when I have Sheoldred, which has been devastating in every instance it happens.
