If you do get Kaervek the Merciless out, there are many tools to make him tremendous board control and life total management: Basilisk Collar, Archetype of Finality, Whip of Erebos or the very dirty dirty Grafted Exoskeleton, terribly dirty. Try these with Heartless Hidetsugu as well--just don't use the infect equipment unless you're under 20 life.

Okay, let's talk Hellcarver Demon. We can set up the perfect win via Doomsday or Mirror of Fate plus Demonic Consultation or Insidious Dreams. We want a combo on the top of our deck, either Havoc Festival plus Wound Reflection or Exquisite Blood and Defiant Bloodlord. Off the Hellcarver Demon trigger, we want to cast Decree of Annihilation last so it resolves first, so hopefully we have the only permanents. I have learned the hard way the following lessons. 1. Decree does not hit enchantments or planeswalkers. 2. You have no blue, so Doomsday can easily be your own death sentence; and 3. Mindcrank kills you dead if our Doomsday resolves (unless you have a Mirror of Fate out). There is the possibility to do a lot of planning and set up for the Hellcarver Demon (He looks like he's saying, "Paint me like one of your French ladies"). But, sometimes, just swinging blindly with the Hellcarver Demon can pay off, especially early game or as a last ditch effort.

You don't have to take the Hellcarver Demon line of play though. Also enjoyable is Faithless Looting and/or Demonic Collusion into my favourite necromantic sorcery Living Death, although this list does not exploit it as much as many other decks do.

This deck is very fun and challenging to pilot. Sometimes though, Kaervek the Merciless just clears the board and irritates your opponents, to death.

Kaervek the Merciless, Vampires & Doomsday Demons: Unleashing Chaos and Carnage!

Welcome to the dark and treacherous realm of "Kaervek the Merciless, Vampires & Doomsday Demons." This deck embraces the power of ruthless control and relentless aggression, led by the sadistic and commanding presence of Kaervek himself.

To ensure your victory and establish dominance, this deck is equipped with a wide array of tools and strategies. Let's delve into some of the key components and strategies that make this deck a force to be reckoned with.

First and foremost, Kaervek the Merciless brings unparalleled board control and life total manipulation. With cards like Basilisk Collar, Archetype of Finality, Whip of Erebos, and the insidious Grafted Exoskeleton, Kaervek becomes a formidable threat, decimating your opponents' creatures and bringing their life totals to their knees. Combining these tools with the lethal power of Heartless Hidetsugu, you can swiftly bring your opponents to their doom, but beware of using the infect equipment unless you're ready to plunge into the realm of the truly merciless.

Now, let's delve into the diabolical machinations of Hellcarver Demon. This malevolent force offers a pathway to victory through the manipulation of your library. By utilizing cards like Doomsday or Mirror of Fate along with Demonic Consultation or Insidious Dreams, you can set up a winning combination at the top of your deck. The ideal scenario involves having either Havoc Festival and Wound Reflection or Exquisite Blood and Defiant Bloodlord waiting to be unleashed. When Hellcarver Demon triggers, cast Decree of Annihilation as the last spell, ensuring its resolution first, and hopefully leaving you as the sole possessor of permanents on the battlefield. Be wary, however, as Decree of Annihilation does not affect enchantments or planeswalkers, and the absence of blue mana makes Doomsday a risky proposition unless you have a Mirror of Fate to safeguard against its potential pitfalls.

While the Hellcarver Demon line of play can be incredibly rewarding, don't feel constrained to that strategy alone. This deck offers alternative avenues for victory. For example, utilize Faithless Looting and/or Demonic Collusion to set up a devastating Living Death. While this deck may not exploit Living Death as fully as others, it still offers a potent opportunity to turn the tides of battle in your favor.

"Beware: this deck contains dark, chaotic, and thrilling gameplay. Kaervek the Merciless delights in clearing the board and frustrating your opponents, ultimately leading them to their untimely demise. Embrace the sadistic joy of control, revel in the power of your vampires and doomsday demons, and dominate the battlefield with ruthless efficiency.

This deck demands cunning decision-making, careful planning, and an understanding of the twisted intricacies that lie within. Will you seize the power of Kaervek the Merciless and unleash chaos and carnage upon your opponents? The choice is yours. Embrace the darkness and carve your path to victory!"
