Fellow Kaalia player, nice deck. +1. The only recommendation I have would be scroll rack. It allows you to shape your hand much like the top.

I'll definitely consider Scroll Rack, especially with cards like Land Tax already in. The deck does burns through cards fast though - my concern would be drawing it too late!

I personaly dont like either of the akromas. They are just 6/6's that do nearly nothing. I feel like there are better creatures you can use like maybe Scourge of the Throne.

I dont run either ofbthe akromas in my kaalia deck. Kaalia Rules All

But overall i do like the deck as a whole. +1

I see Akroma, Angel of Fury in yours, haha!

I agree they're not the most exciting couple. If I did take them out though, it would be for more quick draw... Ambition's Cost, Ancient Craving, Night's Whisper, and so on.

You're recommending Bile Blight? Maybe a good token wipe, but largely unreliable in EDH

You could play Cataclysm, Ravages of War (if you have some money left), Boom/Bust and Catastrophe for additional land destruction.

Also Goryo's Vengeance and Shallow Grave might work well here. Let your commander go to the graveyard when it dies, then play these at the end of your opponent's turn and attack in your own turn...good stuff for whenever your commander would already cost too much to play from the command zone.

I really like your suggestion of Goryo's Vengeance. There are enough other legendaries in the deck to make it useful not just for Kaalia. I'll certainly consider it. Cataclysm could be a great win-con for pulling ahead in a game, but it lets itself down a little bit as being that full-on 'reset' for when it's going badly.

I don't think I could afford the mortgage on Ravages of War, but I'm not looking to add in any more land destruction at the moment anyway. Cheers for your suggestions!

The trick with Cataclysm is that YOU know when it's coming...you would hold back lands and additional creatures, artifacts and so on if you already plan on casting it and your opponents will most likely not do that because its not a very commonly played card. surprise is always on your side with that one :)

Archfiend of Depravity could help deal with pesky token and swarm decks, and keeps there field low to make attacking relatively easy

I've never been to big of a fan of Kaalia.. too much autopilot style for my taste.

Anyway, have you considered Cleansing? Its one of my favorite cards in white.

Duhphlates I don't think this is worth WWW...you will take little dmg and keep all lands, that's all.

I never like Kaalia but I always wanted to see her go off with Breath of Fury. Either with tons of card draw, an oversized hand full of cards or by some form of token generation. Your current deck could have Adarkar Valkyrie or Tariel, Reckoner of Souls constantly bringing back things with haste or work through a handful of Dragon tokens. Even if you choose not to attack during the second phase you still untapped all your creatures. Kaalia could use her ability to summon creatures until she ran out of creatures.

While a little expensive, Cauldron Dance seems really powerful in a deck with so many great fatties.
In case you are interested in more haste enablers, take a look at Hanweir Battlements. If you just ignore the Meld ability, it's still a useful land and similar to Flamekin Village.
If you ever run into a lot of interaction targeted at Kaalia, it might be useful to have an alternative enabler, for example Sneak Attack. However, you could also go the hardcast route, which would make Gilded Lotus very attractive.
In my attempts to build various reanimator decks, Resolute Archangel has always been a great tool. It really shines when you are under pressure and can turn the game around completely. Depends on your metagame tough, it obviously won't prevent kills via commander damage, infect or mill. Platinum Angel could help out in such cases, but relying on a card that's both an artifact and a creature is usually not a great long term plan in EDH.
Since you are in the business for extra combat steps, what about Scourge of the Throne? Although it lacks haste, it might still be good here.

I there, fellow Kaalia of the Vast player. I play Kaalia, born in Heaven for Hell on Earth

I really lime your deck,, so +1.

This is how I want my deck to look like, if I would play EDH, not Dual Commander. In Duel Commander we start at 20 life, so I can't afford to pain myself for draw or to have all the big big fatties I want, not considering their CMC.

Yet I have a question for You. How do you manage to protect Kaalia of the Vast onto the battlefield ? I can't see much protection spells here. What happens when she gets so much hate that she barely touches the battlefield and gets removed ? You stay with all the high CMC cards and wait ?

Maybe you would consider cards like Earnest Fellowship, Spirit Mantle, Defense Grid, Conqueror's Flail, Apostle's Blessing to protect her ?

Feel free to visit my deck and advise me. I am barely starting with MTG, so help would be appreciated.

BlackWitch protecting Kaalia is not as important if she constantly enters the game early enough...and there already are some slots reserved for protecting the commander, even though I agree there could be better cards.

I think the main problem with this deck is that it still lacks a bit of speed, which could be helped by adding Chrome Mox, Lotus Petal, Mana Crypt, Mox Diamond, maybe Mox Opal and even Simian Spirit Guide. The optimal start would be to play Kaalia on turn ONE, which is possible, but not in this build. If you pull that off, even in turn two, there's not much any other player can do about it. You could answer with a lucky Force of Will, Daze (although that's not often played), Swords to Plowshares,...other solutions to stop her from attacking at least once would require a similarly quick start, having at least 3 or 4 mana available on turn 1-2.

I'd rather watch out for Humility for example instead of spot removals. Maybe include more artifact/enchantment removals yourself and further speed up your own deck.

Bladewing the Risen its a good card for recur

nayaman - I did run Bladewing the Risen once upon a time, but even with Buried Alive there weren't enough dragons for it to stay in.

Winterblast - I've added Chrome Mox. Not concerned about T1 Kaalia though!

Nice looking deck page! I did notice, however, that this list would not be considered competitive viable in the current cEDH meta. I can give some suggestions and cuts to help make the deck closer to competitive. The truth is that Kaalia has been pushed down to the casual tiers over the course of years and many more decks popping up. At best Kaalia would full in the Pub-Stomp tier, where she can beat up most casual decks but isnt much competition for the competitive tiers.
