Pestilence demon is good by himself and not when Kaalia is around. I have also not really tested Reaper from the Abyss. I would suggest Griselbrand because he instantly refills your hand once you drop him in with Kaalia. How many times have you emptied your hand and Kaalia has no use that turn?
If you are only running 2 (or 3) demons, I would drop the Blood Speaker. He is kind of a speed bump and broad casts your plan to the world. I would also cut Angelic Overseer and the Herald of War. Herald misses his first +1/+1 counter when dropped in with Kaalia and you are only running 4 humans, one of which has a massive target on her head. Overseer is just too underwhelming in EDH for my taste. Same with Nezumi Graverobber. He is just too slow and clunky in my opinion.
Hope this helps a little.
Reaper from the Abyss is a great card, you should definitely put him in there.
I would 2nd the need for Griselbrand, he does exactly what the deck wants to do, beats face and gives you a way to play more bombs that beat face.
Yosei, the Morning Star would also be epic in this type of Kaalia build, just add in some kind of sac outlet (could easily be land) and some sort of reanimator card (Mimic Vat is another great way to reanimate) and you got yourself a way to lock out a troublesome opponent! Iona, Shield of Emeria is well... she's probably the best card to sneak out with kaalia, just name the most troublsome color to you at the moment and bam! it's the least of your worries.
Ever wanted to sneak out an eldrazi with kaalia (...Conspiracy) and be able to trigger annilator? Well Rakdos the Defiler is just that card since when cheated out by kaalia won't trigger the attack effect he can put a brake on an opponent who's been gaining momentum and punt them back several turns!
I'm trying to get a hold of a Griselbrand at the moment.
The Yosei combo is a great idea, and I will think about that. Iona is just too mean for me. She ends the game if I'm playing a mono-color deck because every non artifact spell they have is now useless.Command Tower is something that I've just never gotten a hold of and the same goes for Sol Ring.[Nezumi Graverobber]] is gravehate, but I'll try to find something else that can take his place, maybe Thraben Heretic. I'll also consider Skullclamp abusers and Buried Alive. Card draw would be helpful.
Thanks for the great feedback guys.
I figured that was why there wasn't the tower or ring in this deck, but I guess I assumed this deck started off with the pre-made commander deck that has both of those in it.
+1 for the fact that it's Kaalia! It's allways fun to see what other's do with the commander you use, so here's Heavenly Rakdos if you're interested.
Also +1 from me b/c you play Kaalia, and you have also given me a few ideas for my own. I agree with Demarge that it really is interesting to see how other people build Kaalia. There are so many different ways.
If your going for GY hate I would suggest Withered Wretch and Bojuka Bog. Nezumi Graverobber's ability is too expensive at 2 for this deck to police GY's, especially in a larger multiplayer game. Hes cool on paper, but clunky in practice. You also have a Tormod's Crypt which also does the job well and Sun Titan can recur it!
@Demarge-Conspiracy cheating in Eldrazi does not give you the annihilater trigger. Its the same mechanic that doesnt make you lose half of your permanents to Rakdos the Defiler attack trigger when cheating it in with Kaalia.
Check out my Kaalia, Bringer of Wrath. I use reanimater/LD.
lol ISHOTTHEPILOT the way I worded that sentence is exactly what you just explained. "Ever wanted to sneak out an eldrazi with kaalia and be able to trigger annilator?" (I cut the (...Conspiracy) part to help clarify the sentence)The paragraph's goal was to point out that Rakdos the Defiler's ability works alot like an especially powerful eldrazi's annihilator.
And I didn't notice the deck lacked Bojuka Bog... I second the need for one.
this is a great deck, just one suggestion as it's only been updated recently, Griselbrand is now banned from EDH completely by wizards :(. obviously it's up to your play group, but you might just want to keep something else to the side in case you have to change it :)
I would consider using more Demons, Angels, and Dragons to take full advantage of Kaalia. Also I would consider using Sneak Attack and Quicksilver Amulet as a Kaalia back up. If you update this deck I would also add in Master of Cruelties because its a great combo with Kaalia check out http://mtgjunkie.com/master-of-cruelties-combo/ it works!
Check out my Kaalia of the Vast EDH deck. The link is http://mtgjunkie.com/kaalia-of-the-vast-edh-deck/
i recommend a Hunted Dragon seems like a decent 5 drop to get in some damage
dude you need to put Amulet of Vigor , with kaalia the creatures are still attacking yet they are untapped for defending
Great deck build by the way. You seem to be missing a couple of things. I would definitely recommend a Quicksilver Amulet . It definitely will help your deck run alot smoother. Keep on searching for the Command Towers and Sol ring. As for mana production Ancient Tomb is a good mana producer for your artifacts. For creatures Griselbrand is still legal for 1v1 matches. When you do however play multiplayer, side in Kokusho, the Evening Star . To better improve your arsenal of baddies, side in Linvala, Keeper of Silence Iona, Shield of Emeria Angelic Arbiter Yosei, the Morning Star Rakdos the Defiler and Malfegor . Those are large baddies and they do keep your opponent's deck on lockdown.
Check out this one I made! From what I see, your is pretty much only angels with a few others splashed in and your mana is a bit off balanced. This is very even between the types and colours
correction: the first time i read your deck it was, now it a bit more balanced, sorry!
