Yea he's gorgeous, thanks for posting this decklist, helped me get a feel as to what i wanted my Kaalia deck to accomplish and i won my first tournament the other night with it, competing again tonight! Great decklist, i curious as to how you feel about the Amulet of vigor?

I thought about Amulet, but in my opinion it just doesn't do enough. None of the creatures I use require tapping to activate abilities, so it doesn't help there. This deck is also not meant to be reactive: I don't usually block with my dudes, that's what my giant removal suite is for.

Thats true, i like my mana coming in untapped but i am starting to feel its a mana sink, i enjoy Sorin Markov though, normally always swing enough to make that 10 matter, normally just a second Master of Cruelties to me, his mana is tough but not too much worse than certain critters

I don't have the mana base issue - I spent a lot of time and money ensuring that most of my lands enter untapped lol

I think Sorin is too slow for this deck: in Duel EDH you start at 30 life, so by the time turn six rolls around I've already got them in the single digits. He'd probably work well in regular Commander though.

I feel like he's overcosted for what he does. 5 mana to draw a card? No thanks lol. Five mana to destroy a creature? Not quite as bad but none of my removal is more than 4 mana, so he's just a subpar version of other cards I run.

I don't run planeswalkers in here because my game plan is to hit hard and hit fast: adding walkers just distracts from that.

I feel the same, though i am running him, only to test him out, plus he's my favorite Planeswalker..I'm curious as to how you feel about Hellkite Tyrant and his ability to steal, right now my build has sort of been a mixture of your build as well as 3Drink's build

I used to run him, he just didn't do that much for me. It's kind of a win-more ability.

Thank you very much for all the help in my deck XD i literally sweep even veterans in my local store.. Everytime Kaalia comes out i hear a collective groan from my opponents..even being targeted the entire time i play i still have an overwhelming sense of pride XD.. i really want to find a way to put Elbrus the binding blade in my deck (without sunforge mystic) any ideas? Or is this just a lost cause? I also have a promo art Ugin id love to have in there as well..but their mana costs are very high

I just don't think there's a spot in a Kaalia deck for either of those cards. The thing about aggro in EDH is you have to be fast - otherwise you get out-midranged by the actual midrange decks. So adding in slow stuff just makes your deck a bit worse.

If you're ever playing casual EDH, maybe, but not in a competitive environment.

With the new cards in the new Command decks coming out, is there anything you see that you would he interested in putting in this deck?

I was looking at the decklists and I'm not really seeing anything I really want to add.

I am not playing dual cummander but still, this is one solid Kaalia's decklist.

Have you ever considered Boros Charm for protection? That card's put me out of trouble so many time... Also, I would run Debt of Loyalty just to make sure the giants stay on the board. Bt hey, with a such decent decklist it's hard to make place for those 2 cards!

Yeah, I've never really had issues with my giants not staying on board and I don't think there's been a place where I've really wanted Boros Charm but maybe I'll see if I can find a spot for it

What ended up being taken out for Read the Bones? I ended up taking out my Sign in Blood for Faithless Looting , the flashback is very nice as well as the 1 drop draw, I felt I already lost too much life due to my lands lol. I also run Vault of the Archangel the deathtouch/lifelink is great with things like Thunder Dragon, Balefire Dragon, or even Thundermaw Hellkite. Also I am thinking avout adding the black and white spirit dragons to my deck to abuse the Sneak Attack / Phyrexian Reclamation combo. What do you think?

I took out Resolute Archangel, she didn't seem to be doing enough.

I tried Vault, it was just too much mana for an effect that didn't do as much as I expected, and this deck is super color hungry, so I can't afford to run lots of colorless-mana producing lands.

As for the dragons, they're cool but 3 mana (two of which is specifically red and black) and two life doesn't seem worth it for the white one. Kokusho could be good, but I've never tried her because it's just not the direction I want to go - also she's six mana to hardcast, which is an awkward spot on my curve.

Also, it's rare that you'll assemble that combo without already winning the game. If you resolve a Sneak Attack, have a bomb or two in your hand, and red mana, you're already miles ahead and don't need reanimation shenanigans in order to win.

Just my two cents, if that made any sense.
