ONE PROXY LEFT! —April 16, 2015

I only need an elusive Marsh Flats before I will be done with this iteration of my deck.

Already looking to make it more of a reanimator package/combo but shhhh don't tell anybody.

Scourge of the Throne would be a really good addition to this deck.

I thought about adding him, but the problem is that his attack trigger doesn't trigger when placed with Kaalia. Because of this, he was almost automatically excluded.

Have you considered Sunforger? Lets you tutor for Mortify, StP/PtE, Return to Dust, Wear / Tear or Enlightened Tutor. The mana/equip-cost might be a bit high, but it lets you dig for a lot of answers. How much do you like the scrylands? Are they worth the tempo loss?

The scry lands are okay so far. I'm planning to replace them with the filters once I get my hands on some.

As for Sunforger, I'm not too impressed with the six mana cost. I know it lets me tutor for things, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

Hammer of Purphoros could be great alternative for Fervor. Id probably pick both of them just to add odds to draw it. And why are you taking Nevermore out? i thought that its kinda op in edh, becos you can block players from casting generals...

Because some of the decks in my playgroup don't rely on their commanders, and it's only been meh for me so far.

Sorry for double posting.

I like Hammer of Purphoros but the double red is a little sketchy. Also, the second ability really isn't relevant.

Cavern of Souls, Chancellor of the Annex, Grand Abolisher, and I have yet to see a control deck that runs those two field wipes.

How have you found Spirit Mantle to be good? I personally prefer Unquestioned Authority for the card draw, its up to you.

Spirit Mantle has been pretty great so far. I might try Unquestioned Authority but the extra 1 mana is a little sketchy.

RocketUserPro says... #13

these sketchy things you're talking about aren't that sketchy, you're playing 37 lands plus mana rocks double red shouldn't be that hard, maybe not an all the time but often enough. Also why the hell are you playing Aurelia if you don't like the fact that it doesn't trigger immediately, we can't have it all. Also Griselbrand is banned in commander.

March 3, 2015 11:56 p.m.

Check the format, buddy. Also read the description. Duel Commander follows a different ban list.

Aurelia is really really good and I can hardcast her without much trouble. Not to mention she has haste.

Hammer isn't going in here, the two drop enchantment from DTK will be because two mana is better than three mana.

well you're right, i apologize. I didn't realize that duel had a different ban list. But why is the one manna on questioned authroity and the double rr difficult, it's so much about the card but mana cost that i'm very confused about. I ain't your buddy pal

March 4, 2015 12:08 a.m.

Double rr isn't difficult, it's just I found a better card to replace it with.

As for Unquestioned Authority, I'm not completely sold on it, and my mana fiddling is because in the other formats I play, the difference between 2 and 3 mana is huge. So far, Spirit Mantle has been just fine for me, so it's not like I'm looking to get rid of it.

Were going to ask why no Swiftfoot Boots, but then... why no Whispersilk Cloak. Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant is one of those "op" cards in edh that should be banned.

March 4, 2015 4:04 a.m.

Rune-Tail doesn't really follow the way this deck is built. I found that Whispersilk cloak was just not quite good enough and so it was cut and replaced. I just run the swords instead.

Thunderbreak Regent deserves in for sure

Target my dragon? bolt to the face

March 4, 2015 12:47 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #20

Also replacing fervor with dragon tempest right? Haste for your entire deck (basically) for one less mana and also synergies with the drags

March 4, 2015 12:49 p.m.

Cravv says... #21

Dragon Tempest looks like those badly out of balance cards. Going to get them to my Scourge of Valkas deck.

March 4, 2015 2:32 p.m.

Hell yeah Dragon Tempest is going in here, I'm thinking of replacing Sire Of Insanity with it.

I'm not so sold on the regent, yes he's good but only three damage in Duel EDH isn't that great. In modern, he's really good but here I'm not so sure.

March 4, 2015 2:42 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #23

He's cheaper to cast than most your guys. If spot removal is an issue for you at all, he'll not only punish your opponent for killing him but he'll absorb it instead of something more important. He demands an answer and i think that's his greatest appeal.

Have you considered Aegis Angel? Would replace Moltensteel Dragon with it. The other thing, additional combat phase's. World at War and Aggravated Assault would fit in well i think.

March 5, 2015 4:01 a.m.

The description clearly says I'm looking to add Aggravated Assault in. I tried the angel, turned out she didn't work. I'll think about World of War.
