Dominating my Meta(: —May 25, 2013

I just played this deck competitively tonight (mix of 1v1 and 3 player games) against Omnath, Locus of Mana , Kaalia of the Vast , Teysa, Orzhov Scion , Gaddock Teeg , and Child of Alara . I ended up winning all 7 games. If I didn't play many ultimates of my planeswalkers i ended up going infinite with my general.

This deck just seems to dominate. I'm loving the turnout!!

am I missing the card that gives creatures haste, or is there a point to reducing Sliver Queen 's ability to 1 with Training Grounds ?

Cool deck! Some suggestions:

For planeswalkers, I really like Gideon Jura as removal and sometimes protection.

Protecting planeswalkers is sort of tricky because they draw so much hate, at least from personal experience. Token blockers are good but flyers can be a problem, as can other sorts of evasion. Humility is like the ultimate defense I think. Stops opponent ETB effects and makes your 1/1 tokens trade with any of their creatures. Also Gisela is pretty huge attack deterrant, as is Kazuul.

Finally, Doubling Season is great, but Gilder Bairn is pretty strong too! Like a mini version :)

Demarge - Sarkhan Vol gives them +1/+1 and haste. also, with Ashnod's Altar AND/OR Mana Echoes out I can create infinite creatures and infinite mana.

Dormant Sliver to draw out my deck until I get my Reliquary Tower , then sac him.

Gemhide Sliver for mana excel and infinite colored mana once I get the sac outlet going.

Sliver Legion - to make them all infinite / infinite.

Delandel - do you mind using the brackets to link the cards? two "[" before the card name and two "]" after the card name and it will link the card. some of the cards I am unsure if are card names or not? lol

also guys I never so say to +1ing my deck. haha

I believe you read Sarkhan Vol wrong, he doesn't give all the creatures that would come into play of yours that turn haste, he gives the creatures you currently control haste.

i know that. I put them into play, then give them haste. im not going to activate that ability before they come in.

If you have Concordant Crossroads or even Lightning Greaves you could go infinite sliver tokens with Sliver Queen , Training Grounds and Gemhide Sliver .

Blazing Archon won't stop people from attacking your planeswalkers.

Norn's Annex and Isperia, Supreme Judge are both very strong cards and effective deterrents against attacks. Neither of them will stop an attack if the opponent really wants to, but Annex limits them to their mana (or life) and Isperia can let you draw lots of answers. Combined with something like your "make a mass of slivers to block with" plan and suddenly your opponent has to swing with lots of dudes just to get through, and that's super profitable for you.

Blood Reckoning isn't a good choice, though. For the most part, if it's worth paying the 1 life, an opponent will do so to take out a PW. It doesn't matter if you avoided losing some life to Reckoning if Bolas is just going to win the game for you next turn, for instance. You'll trip up some opponents with it, but the better players won't be fooled.

Consider the Vow cycle as well (Vow of Flight , etc.) They're solid cards in that they're a hard stop for one creature on attacking you, which has the added bonus of making them probably attack other players. And because they're inexpensive, they also double as solid buff spells for your own dudes, if you just want to make a beefier guy.

lol i love the concept. but does the deck even work?

Dreno33 says... #12

yes, actually. haha. i got out 20 4/4 red dragon tokens out T3 ( with Sarkhan Vol ) and then casted Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker T4 and used his ultimate T4 as well. Then swung in with 20 5/5 dragons in the air.

this deck is actually pretty solid and consistent. Doubling Season is what I usually tutor for most (depending on everything else of course. And if my planes walkers don't beat you down then my infinite combos of slivers will.

LOL this deck is hilarious.

You should put Sliver Queen in the general slot.

Dude, I would love to comment on this deck for you, but I am lost when it comes to EDH, my area of expertise lays in Standard and Draft.
