Maybeboard

This deck is intended for Legacy Tribal Wars; a casual MTGO format in which at least a third of your deck must be creatures that share a single creature type. It uses roughly the same banned list as Legacy and there are no sideboards. You can find all of my Tribal Wars decks here.

I'm on a very tight budget so the cheaper the better; anything above 1 MTGO ticket per card is too much unless it would have a big impact as a singleton in the deck and/or it would be useful in several of my decks. Thanks for checking out my deck and I greatly appreciate suggestions and +1s.

Arachnophobes beware, the spider apocalypse cometh!

Spoder-based graveyard shenanigans, trying to fill the 'yard with as many creatures as possible to power up Graverobber Spider , Spider Spawning , Splinterfright , Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Gnaw to the Bone .

The deck is intentionally 62 cards; due to rounding, it allows for a slightly higher ratio of off-tribe cards.

Spider Spawning - Truly the spider apocalypse; it's expensive but flashback is amazing both for casting it twice and value-milling it and multiple 1/2s are really good on the defence.

Graverobber Spider - This may be the card that inspired me to try the strategy but at the same time with a 4-mana activation cost, I don't want to draw more than one.

Splinterfright - I would hope that I don't have to justify including this; it just does everything the deck wants.

Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - is not necessarily trivial to assemble and sacrificing two lands is quite a cost since there are a bunch of mana-hungry cards in the deck but a recursive threat that can be value-milled is useful in games where I flood and the ability to cause the opponent to lose life gives me an out to decks that lock me out of the attack step ( Moat decks, for example).

Gnaw to the Bone - OK, so calling this a win condition is profound hyperbole but I didn't want to put this into its own category and against burn-heavy matchups gaining 10 or more life can effectively win the game.

Nyx Weaver - Fills the grave early and recurs a win condition late and is a Spider; what more could a person possibly want from a Magic card?

Shriekmaw - A removal spell that's worse than Terror , which is already worse than Doom Blade or Go for the Throat is not ideal but anything to put creatures into the graveyard, basically.

Sakura-Tribe Elder - A Rampant Growth that puts a creature in the 'yard and can Fog one creature's attack is very useful for accelerating me into the late-game and allowing me to survive to get to it. It's especially good since my curve is so stacked at 2, so a turn 2 Elder allows me to play a pair of 2CMC spells on turn 3.

Pale Recluse / Jungle Weaver / Satyr Wayfinder - Provide grave fodder and allow me to cheat a bit on the number of lands in the deck.

Deadly Recluse / Juvenile Gloomwidow - They don't fill the grave as such unless they die in combat but they discourage the opponent from attacking, which does buy me time to find other ways of making a pile of corpses, and I do absolutely need early blockers to have a chance against aggressive decks. They also both pair pretty well with Swarmyard in situations where I don't want them to die.

Geier Reach Sanitarium / Grim Backwoods - Some synergistic utility lands but between Swarmyard , Svogthos, the Restless Tomb and Krosan Verge I don't think I can afford to add any more colourless lands.

Golgari Grave-Troll / Stinkweed Imp - Dredge is good but I'm not sure I have enough ways to consistently get them into the graveyard.

Dryad Arbor - It would increase the ratio of creatures in the deck, which is good for the self-mill of Nyx Weaver and Splinterfright , but that seems too marginal of an advantage to include what is essentially a tap-land.

Phenax, God of Deception - It can help me mill myself, works well with the relatively large Spider butts and I do quite like having an alternate means of winning the game so I'm not just locked out by things like Moat but I'm somewhat doubtful that it's worth going into a 4th colour for.

For more creeping, crawling and going to the graveyard but with less legs, I have Insects:
