Welcome to my Zacama deck!

The concept is pretty simple: Play dinosaurs, control the board and devour the opponent's life total(s). With a wide range of control options and a moderate amount of ramp and cost reduction available it's simply a matter of fortunate draws. The only thing I find disappointing about this deck is that I couldn't include all of the Elders as it is not a 5 colour deck. I didn't design it around being competitive it's more about having fun. Suggestions are always welcome.

Originally I had Gishath, Sun's Avatar at the helm not only because it was really the only appropriate option at the time but because it has a pretty insane ability. With that said I have to admit that as soon as Zacama, Primal Calamity was spoiled I knew that changes were going to have to occur. Zacama just brings way too much to the table to pass up not to mention it's a three headed fucking dinosaur so... Yes, please.

Zacama, Primal Calamity: Making Cerberus look like a little bitch (pun intended) isn't an easy task but Zacama does it without breaking a sweat. As if getting to untap all your lands upon hitting the battlefield after being cast wasn't enough this baby comes loaded with control options worth being drooled over. If not dealt with immediately Zacama can easily help take over the game and bring an easy W.

With more enrage triggers than a YouTube comment section or reddit forum these dinos can make some crazy things happen! Distribute +1/+1 counters, create tokens, gain life, draw cards, everything you could ever need or want is available so long as you can get it onto the board. Harbinger of the Hunt happens to be one of the best available ways to activate Enrage but can also be used, with enough mana, to blow up any/all flying threats. In all honesty my hands down favorite combo in the deck is Forerunner of the Empire + Polyraptor to turn a 1/3 and a 5/5 into 8 5/5s. There's also a decent amount of ETB, combat damage and upon attacking triggers available as well to help round out the available options.

Whether it's slowing opponents down or stopping their combos completely I find control to be one of my favorite aspects of the game. There are multiple cards similar Authority of the Consuls to be found in the deck list with Kismet and Loxodon Gatekeeper arguably being the strongest of them. It was when I saw Kinjalli's Sunwing that I couldn't help but think of stacking enough of that sort of effect in the deck that it was almost always guaranteed to be on the field in one way or another.

In terms of removal the Naya colours don't necessarily have access to the best options but there are enough to choose from that emptying the board or surviving a scary threat is still possible. I find Wakening Sun's Avatar and Whirlwind to be the best board clears as they end up doing the least to my established board but when in dire situations clearing out my own things as well as my opponents' is all good. Also, while I prefer to use it as a game ending card, Chandra's Ignition is always welcome to bring some burn to opponents and clear out weaker threats as well as trigger enrages, very versatile card. Most of the single target removal focuses on creatures with flying because it's a challenging keyword for this deck to get a handle on. More often than not the dinos in the list can handle ground attackers with ease by blocking without fear.

Other than the mana rocks every artifact in this deck revolves around bringing some sort of benefit to the tribal aspect. Coat of Arms and Door of Destinies both serve the purpose of pumping up fellow dinos and while Vanquisher's Banner does the same in a smaller capacity it also provides draw. Another card that can provide more than one helpful option is Herald's Horn which not only brings potential card advantage but also makes creatures easier to cast much like Urza's Incubator. There are two creatures in the list that also reduce the cost of dinosaurs and then there's the beauty of Thundering Spineback which not only pumps up other dinos but can even be used to create some!

This exists to change the deck into a more 1v1 style of play. Which cards are switched out boils down to personal preference but all of the cards listed here target a specific opponent for more concentrated burn/damage.

Drover of the Mighty: Mana.

Majestic Heliopterus: Tribal trigger.

Raging Regisaur: Trigger.

Sun-Crowned Hunters: Burn.

Triassic Egg: Free creature.
