So... apparently, I have an irrational love of "Banding". Not just because it's strong (although that's a large part of it) but because it's so ridiculous in terms of both mechanics and flavour. I stumbled upon the Bandland cycle (here represented by Unholy Citadel and Adventurers' Guildhouse ) and instantly thought "this is what I want to do with Kresh". The deck already had a tonne of Legendary creatures in it, so why not?

Although the banding is something that's fun to get going, the deck works fine without it. It rarely enters the foray and even more rarely becomes relevant. Still, the deck performs pretty solidly, even if it has mana troubles at times...

EDIT: at the advice of my good friend (a very competent and competitive EDH player) a lot of the flashy spells have been removed for utility cards. After all, in a proper environment, the deck needs ways of protecting itself.

I'm sorry but if you're playing Ashling the Pilgrim with green, you MUST play Vigor , it is insane...

A green deck without Eternal Witness or Primeval Titan ? Shame on you, haha, just kidding. A black deck without tutors? Shame on you! (this time I am serious)

Add card:Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper it will probably be fun.

Scarland Thrinax and Sprouting Thrinax are both in your colors. As is Golgari Germination and Death Mutation (although quite a high cmc on this one) for extra token production...

And i'm guessing the pump spells are meant for Kresh? Then you might want to swap Lightning Greaves for Swiftfoot Boots this time. Even though i'm really not a believer in plain pump spells in edh...

Skullclamp ftw

other good recurring creatures are Bloodghast , Vengevine , Reassembling Skeleton , Woodfall Primus , Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Nether Traitor

for some board control you can turn to Grave Pact and Butcher of Malakir

And lastly some good creatures that are good with graveyard business: Skullbriar, the Walking Grave , Lord of Extinction , Mortivore

I really like the Mage Slayer in here

Thanks for the comment, friend. Really, I made this deck with what I had lying around, but I'll keep what you said in mind when I'm browsing through other peoples' trades

By the way, if you do decide to play Vigor , you should also use Scourge of Kher Ridges .

Rancor would probably do you a world of good in place of Tragic Slip . If you Tragic Slip anything to death, Kresh doesn't get bigger.

Here's my Kresh deck. deck:david-koresh

Since you don't run any life gain I would suggest Rain of Gore . It could really ruin lots of other decks.

I agree with Rain of Gore it's well, a Killer.

My friend made a Kresh list that is pretty brutal in our local meta (I think bloodbraids 2 is the list but im unsure how up to date it is). Off the top of my head I would recommend Pestilence , Pyrohemia , Fallen Ideal , Phyrexian Dreadnought . But it may be better to plot with him lol. +1 from me

I'd suggest, if you're looking for legendary creatures, and are running a lot of +1/+1 counter effects, etc, to run Skullbriar, the Walking Grave and Jugan, the Rising Star - both could come in handy for sure.

Imo if you're running black/red, let alone Kresh, you HAVE to have creature destroy in the deck, a must in EDH. I'd recommend cards like Terminate Dreadbore Rend Flesh Eyeblight's Ending Tribute to Hunger Tragic Slip Victim of Night Ultimate Price Doomblade Murder Go for the Throat there's of course more. I would also recommend cards like Visara the Dreadful Avatar of Woe Royal Assassin . If you can combo Visara the Dreadful or Avatar of Woe with a Thornbite Staff it's a board wipe for the most part and Kresh the Bloodbraided becomes HUGE.

With a name like "Jund's Greatest Heroes" I would have expected to see Bloodbraid Elf , ha! Though, I can see there isn't anything to splashy that's really worth cascading into.

Oh, plus one for banding.

Take out the clue stones, they don't do enough of anything, I think you should put Sol Ring , Sensei's Divining Top , and Chromatic Lantern

August 3, 2013 4:10 p.m.

Exotic Orchard . also Pillar of the Paruns . also also, nix the Cluestones. they're just taking up space. the Signets would be better. or Sol Ring . every EDH deck needs a Sol Ring .
