- 2x Archfiend of Ifnir
- 2x Flameblade Adept
- 4x Noose Constrictor
- 4x Sylvan Advocate
- 2x The Gitrog Monster
I've trying to brew a Jund Gitrock Deck ever since SOI released. 'Focused more on early game control with Duress and Transgress the Mind, though. I think Sylvan Advocate is a must 4-of, if you have him / want to spend the money. Follows the same goal and goes very well with Mina and Dann Mina and Denn, Wildborn. What I miss on your list would probably be a decent Card Advantage Spell. Maybe consider adding Grapple with the Past to your deck, it's a very powerful Filter Effect I think and helps you very well with finding your landdrops and fixing. Also, put one Dragonmaster Outcast in here... man, I wanted that card to be good...

alright i made quite a few changes and took out the Grim Flayer and put Sylvan Advocate back in because i think they would fit alot better. i also turned it into a zombie deck on the field until Omnath shows up.. i think this is alot better then waiting for From Beyond to do things.

Combat Celebrant seems out of place here. Actually the entire decks looks weird, but I'm assuming that's the whole point? Looks cool, +1 From me.

I also have a Jund deck based around The Gitrog Monster (I Just Drew 20 Cards (Jund Midrange 2.0)), and I'm just wondering how exactly the deck is suppose to work. It looks like it can make good plays, but I can't seem to find many of the combos and synergies, outside of the ones that are in my deck too. Also, I just have to say, Groundskeeper as a general rule works better than Splendid Reclamation, at least for me.

I like the concept, though I feel the decks goal needs tightening up. I like Gitrog and Archfiend, but I feel some of the other creatures are a bit awkward. Olivia prefers an Aggro approach which Gitrog doesn't fit, so I'd cut her personally. Other low cost creatures there also aren't ideal imo, save for Grim Flayer. For a stompy approach, I'd thrown in something like Sylvan Advocate and/or Woodland Wanderer. I also feel the deck needs some more early disruption. Grasp of Darkness or Shock for example. Overall, the deck seems good, but conflicted. Gitrog, Ifnir, and the high land count wants midrange. Olivia and such want Aggro. I'd personally push the midrange angle.

CreepyDentures thanks for the feedback haha. ive actually used Sylvan Advocate alot i just wanted to give other stuff a chance for a home for play, but ive never used Woodland Wanderer yet. i also think some ramp would to the deck really good too just to be sure i have land in my hand at all times. my goal is to make this deck combo well with Archfiend of Ifnir + Noose Constrictor + The Gitrog Monster + Shadow of the Grave

I too have played something similar to this....
I wanted to play Gitrog and Omnath together forever... and never tried it until after Amonkhet was printed and gave us a few more cards. I slapped a deck together with cards I already had and built Jund Bad Stuff exclusively to play once in a standard showdown a few weeks ago. The deck was mostly uncooperative, though did have a couple of explosive games. Perhaps you might get a few ideas from it. Or not. :)
On a side note, Archfiend of Ifnir while being one of my pet cards, seldom stays on the board to do much...and as it's at the top of the curve of most decks, you've usually played out most of your hand by the time it drops, leaving you little to discard to make use of it in my experience.
Anyways...I think anyone trying to use Gitrog in standard deserves a +1 ...
