Enchantment (1)

I lowered the acceleration by removing Search for Tomorrow to make room for some better removal and catch-alls like Abrupt Decay and a solid value creature in Thunderbreak Regent that can still come down turn 3, followed by turn 4 Stormbreath Dragons.

Fatal Push made me change my approach with Broodmate Dragon, as Fatal Push kills the token easy making Broodmate an over costed vanilla 4/4 flier.

Deck competes pretty well with the Modern metagame, but I am not claiming it is a top tier deck by any means. I am simply saying it competes well with and can regularly beat some of the best decks with some crafty piloting.

Let me know what you think, I am always improving it and do not own any fetches or anything of the like. They are on my list to get.

Updates Add

So while I still can't afford a full set of Fetchlands to really upgrade the deck, I have made some upgrades:

Abrupt Decay was a card I managed to trade for with it's reprinting in MM3. It's a great card, a catch-all removal for many of the formats best permanents from Delver and Death's Shadow to Liliana of the Veil and Tarmogoyf.

Steel Hellkite is being experimented with. His X ability is actually quite useful, especially against some more offbeat strategies or combo decks.

Thunderbreak Regent was added as a response to Fatal Push. Fatal Push could turn Broodmate Dragon into an over costed 4/4 for 6CMC rather than 6 mana for 8 P/T over two bodies since it so easily dispatches the dragon token. Thunderbreak makes people pay for trying to remove my dragons, is 4 mana for 4 power flying (usually on turn 3 due to Sakura Tribe Elder) and the damage can really swing a race, and can even help against the rise of Death's Shadow, since hasty dragons like Stormbreath and Kolaghan can come down for large amounts of surprise damage from no where.

Read the Bones is a card I've loved in Standard, and this deck can suffer from bad draws. RtB helps smooth it out and gives Dark-Dwellers a good target when you have control over the board.

Painful Truths added to the Sideboard for grindy matches.

Hornet Nest is a great sideboard option for Death's Shadow. The lack of Trample of the Shadow and Tarmogoyf make the little bees incredibly scarey for Death's Shadow players.

I want to pick up Fetches and fetachable dual lands for more consistency, as well as one or two copies of Raging Ravine to put your mana to good use in the late game.

Overall the deck remains competitive. It still performs very well against Dredge, Infect, Affinity, and has increased it's win percent against Burn since the additions of Feed the Clan and Obstinate Baloth. It does very well against other, more traditional, Jund decks and does very, very well against Abzan midrange. Control decks relying on White, such as Jeskai or U/W, for heavy removal it still does great against due to Stormbreath, and does well most of the time against decks using Fatal Push.

Death's Shadow is an interesting beast to combat. I've found that Abzan Death's Shadow is easier to beat than the Jund version, for obvious reasons. Usually I find the Kolghan dash swing for burst is my best route to victory against them.

I've been asked in shop about the 1-of Chandra. I like threat diversity, and having one non-creature win condition is something I like doing. She survives all the common board sweepers rising in popularity as control seems to be getting a better and better foothold (Wrath of God, Damnation, Supreme Verdict...) and gives me a way to sweep up small creatures if there are still ones running around. I would eventually like to replace her with Chandra, Torch of Defiance however, who gives me damage as well as mana which this deck can eat up.

Amonkhet brings Glorybringer, which I'm almost certain will find a home as a 2-to-4-of in this deck. The ability to come down and swing for 8 by itself, backed by Stormbreath or Kolaghan, has a lot of potential for the surprise burst kill.
