An ex-mono-green Plant-based build, this deck has taken on a few extra colors to spice up the garden.Combining elements of mono-green landfall, Abzan counters, and just a pinch of Jund Dragons, this deck starts small but grows whenever someone does just about anything! Play lands to grow your Vinelasher Kudzu, give time for Scute Mob to grow ridiculously huge, and turn Avenger of Zendikar into a terrifying win condition.Punish your opponent's spell-casting with Managorger Hydra and Ruric Thar, the Unbowed.Playing against control? Got a few turns to chill? Let Scute Mob and Bloodhall Ooze tick up over time.Slumbering Dragon is an efficient way to discourage Aggression, particularly with many small creatures. Your opponents had better make their combat steps count when this guy is around!Hardened Scales, Corpsejack Menace, and Winding Constrictor are okay on their own, but they'll push your other creatures to insane heights.Journey to Eternity
is a fun-of as it has great synergy with Sakura-Tribe Elder and AoZ.
This deck is made for budget (~$70) and/or casual play. As such the land base is reasonably cheap and half-full of basics. Grisly Salvage, Lightning Bolt, and Go for the Throat are some great budget cards to move into the deck if you'd prefer to have some control.
Feel free to shuffle the lands around or buy more and/or better duals if your budget allows it. Green is definitely the dominant color of the deck, followed by black. You will usually have at least one kind of ramp card in the first few turns to grab whatever color your hand is missing.
Note: despite all the ramp options and the high number of 1-2 mana spells in the deck, it can be difficult to decide what order you should cast the spells in your hand. This might be fixed by taking out some creatures for removal or even green hexproof instants. Still, I am happy with this creatur-intensive build, so I'm going to leave it like this for now. Call me a scrub if you so desire.P.S. Sorry if you thought there were going to be demons!
