This deck is a hybrid, wannabe Amulet Bloom combo deck (that doesn't actually run Summer Bloom or Amulet of Vigor. The two win-cons are equipping Umbral Mantle to Viridian Joiner for an infinitely large creature (that also taps for infinite green mana) or comboing your opponent by making him cast a pact he can't pay for using Hive Mind.

The sideboard adds a third dimension to the deck by bringing in Banefire. In favorable matchups, you might as well try to do something aggressive with all that mana, and killing your opponent with an uncounterable fireball for a hundred billion damage seems like a reasonable option.

Slaughter Pact to the Main — July 12, 2016

As I was writing my response to Nitro Badger, I concluded that Slaughter Pact in the main compensates a little more for the small amount of disruption this deck is able to represent. Of course, it also feeds the Hive Mind route to victory. I also took the Ancient Stirrings back out and threw in 2 G-probes again. You can't underestimate the information that Gitaxian Probe gives you when you are attempting to outline your path to victory. Additionally, Ancient Stirrings sort of pigeon-holes you to pursuing the Viridian Joiner route, which is the weaker of the two lines in my opinion. It's definitely a feel bad if you have a Hive Mind and need some sort of pact effect, but your only tool to dig is Ancient Stirrings. I could be wrong on this, though.
