You might not want to go infinite with this, but there's always Aphetto Alchemist equipped with Illusionist's Bracers

Really enjoyed this deck, description on the podcast was great as well.

Another thing you could do is add more Curiosity effects like Snake Umbra and Keen Sense which can get crazy with Zhur-Taa Druid.

Great stuff!

A few things I feel like might be missing: Goblin Sharpshooter is possibly the best pinger of all time. Jeska, Warrior Adept is another great pinger; the haste and first strike both synergize well. Basilisk Collar is another deathtouch enabler, much better than Gorgon's Flail, and the lifelink can be relevant (coincidentally, combos very well with Sharpshooter). With that, Skullclamp, and a Sensei's Top, it could be worth running Trinket Mage, but eh. With all your untap effects, I feel a draw to put in Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Splinter Twin, but those can probably be left out just because you don't have anything to synergize super well with the copies. For general utility, I find it hard to have a green deck without Beast Within and Song of the Dryads, but I don't need to tell you how good permanent removal is. Finally, I would definitely run Eternal Witness over Regrowth, as you can more easily fetch for it with your creature tutors (maybe both?).

I also feel like, since you touted the deck's weakness to sweepers, switching generals to Maelstrom Wanderer would give you access to a way to reload the board and an easy way to get haste.

Wanderer is a great call. I have considered that for a while now and probably need to just go out and buy one (that's been my main hang-up).

Goblin Sharpshooter is a definite add and Basilisk Collar is simply because I don't have one. You're right about Eternal Witness too. All good ideas thanks!

Willbreaker would probably be a good addition from origins.

If you're looking for more ideas, I put together a Keranos, God of Tims deck. Some of the cards that might work well in your build are Intruder Alarm, Cowardice, and Sword of Kaldra. A fun combo is Minamo, School at Water's Edge + Reveka, Wizard Savant .

My build is designed more for fun than power, eschewing the infinite combos with the Niv Mizzets and Curiosity effects.

RogueArtificer says... #8

Sword of Kaldra is in the deck already. Cowardice is interesting, but it turns off equipment, which can be less than ideal (not to mention turning off Minamo, School at Water's Edge)

I love the idea of this deck, but have you considered using Animar, Soul of Elements as your commander? With just a couple creatures he reduces all the cost of your creatures to just colored mana which allows you to save more mana for tricks instead of casting costs. While also having protection from W an B just give him some added versibility and even a chance to 21 someones face. Also you can feel free not to play him to keep him cheaper in case of a wrath to rebuild alot more quickly.

I absolutely LOVE the concept behind this deck. I never want to play normal EDH deck. I love those "Wait, WHAT?" concepts like Shadowborn Apostle Funtime, and this deck is right up my ally. There's one issue tho, the price tag. I don't have $700, but still want this deck in paper. Can you please post a budget version around $100?

November 7, 2015 1:16 a.m.

It's not quite as cheap as you'd like, but I'm sure if you took the Josh's deck and mine which is inspired by his, you could cobble something together in your price range. The first step is just find any card over $10 and if don't already have it, cut it from the deck, and find a cheaper alternative, if possible (IE: Basilisk Collar and Gorgon's Head or Sylvan Library and Monastery Siege or Ceta Sanctuary )

Here's my deck, it doesn't have the Green, so that might help with running fewer specialty lands. In Pursuit of Flight

Have you considered Izzet Staticaster? cant target players, but the ability to wipe an entire token army (especially if he gets deathtouch) is huge. i know in the episode you guys said that was one of the weaknesses of the deck.

Also have you thought of running black as a support color rather than green? i think i would play a grixis version of this. Using Archetype of Finality for deathtouch and Royal Assassin effects. i think losing green loses some of the mana effects like Market Festival but things like Crypt Ghast and Magus of the Coffers can alleviate that.

Also, it seems like adding Hateflayer+Burning Anger and/or Marsh Viper+Viridian Longbow would be super powerful WinCons in this deck.

There are plenty of other "Teacher"/"Apprentice" cards, as I like to call them. However those two sets in particular seem the most powerful to me.

Paradox engine seems like a fine fit.

Since pesmerga87 mentioned Hateflayer I would like to mention Cryptolith Rite. Not only does this give all your tims another ability and ramp you HARD in a creature based deck, it works super well with hateflayer and can be a wincon all on it's own.

For those wondering how to make a budget version of this deck. Cutting Survival of the Fittest and the 3 old school duals reduces the cost of this build by almost $650 bucks...

This deck requires a couple of key cards, such as equipments that give Deathtouch, but otherwise you can easily build a version of this deck for about $200.

Question - In a deck that focuses completely on targeting creatures, how do you NOT have Arcane Lighthouse in this deck?

March 27, 2017 11:14 p.m.

I love the theme of this deck so much that it inspired me to make my own Derevi I'd Tap That Shenanigans budget deck. No Prophet is rough, but still very fun.

It wasn't banned 2 years ago when the deck was originally uploaded.
