Jhoira commands the most metal of historic decks.

Evolving out of a Grixis artifact token deck concept, Jhoira scratches an itch for a unique artifact deck that can pull out a sudden victory. Our commander is a centerpiece to the deck, allowing us to draw cards whenever we cast a historic spell, and the deck is mostly built around her. The focus is to draw cards, and we'll look to weaponize that, combo off, and storm by raining mana-rocks.
To get the most use out of Jhoira, we're going to try to keep our mana curve low. This isn't an egg's deck, because this is for multiplayer, against a pretty varied meta - resilience and having multiple paths to victory are going to be key. Value-generating, low-CMC, historic spells, with mana cost reducers equate to about the same thing, but with cooler cards. We'll look for ways to turn our card draw into pain for our opponents, such as Sphinx's Tutelage , or win out of nowhere by drawing our deck with Laboratory Maniac . There's a number of combos in here, as well, that give the deck some potency no matter the board state, too. By casting lots of mana rocks, we'll draw lots of cards, and be able to play those cards with the mana rocks, and keep the cycle going - so we'll include methods to weaponize all of those spells we're casting.
This deck is a lot of fun. There's so many interactions and synergies, its pretty complex. Because the curve is low, there's a ton of mana ramp, and you're drawing lots of cards, it kind of feels like you're kamikaze piloting the Weatherlight into our enemies. It either achieves warp speed, or it explodes in a ball of fiery glory.
This deck is fast, and has a lot of synergy going for it. The synergy seems to get out of hand faster than opponents expect, or they spend lots of resources to address card after card. Jhoira keeps restocking our hand, which only provides more synergy. Jhoira is the lynchpin, though, so consider her a sort of Voltron commander when considering this deck's vulnerabilities. She'll fly under most radar's, though, and at 4 CMC, casting her 2-3 times isn't too difficult.
- Win! vs. Saheeli, the Gifted . Turn 1 Sol Ring and Izzet Signet led into a Sphinx's Tutelage , Sensei's Divining Top and Foundry Inspector .
- Lose. vs. Pir, Imaginary Rascal / Toothy, Imaginary Friend . Toothy got real big, real fast, with Canopy Cover .

Updates Add

After fielding Jhoira a number of times, this deck has yet to require significant overhauls.
1. Vedalken Orrery out, Toothy, Imaginary Friend in. Vedalken Orrery is real good, but doesn't synergize with the deck well enough. You're not often in a position where casting at the end of another player's turn helps a considerable amount. Toothy wrecks house, and with the sheer number of cards this deck draws, he'll be another 'Answer Me Now' cards.
