Everything in this deck is around instant and sorcery synergy.

DECK DESCRIPTION

Creatures

  • Delver of Secrets  : Needs no introduction. One of the best blue creatures ever printed. Allows you to have a 3/2 creature with flying on turn 2.

  • Young Pyromancer : A 2 drop creature that puts 1/1 tokens on battlefield everytime you cast an instant or sorcery spell. Doesn't sound that strong, but trust me, it is.

  • Monastery Mentor : Did you like Young Pyromancer ? Wouldn't be awesome if 1/1 tokens had prowess? This is a 3 drop creature that does just that.

  • Grim Lavamancer : Casting that much spells is going to make you have a huge useless graveyard (except for flashback cards). Let's solve that turning that useless graveyard into damage.

Instant and Sorcery Spells

Direct damage

Card draw

  • Serum Visions : Draw 1 card and choose if you want to draw the next 2 cards in your library or not.

  • Think Twice : Draw 1 card and draw another one using flashback. Basicly, card advantage casting an instant spell two times. This is not that good normally, but remember that we take advantage each time we cast a noncreature spell.

  • Perilous Research : Draw two cards for 2 mana at instant speed. Sounds awesome, huh? Well, the problem is that you have to sacrifice a permanent after drawing those 2 cards... But... Wait... What if you've got a creature that creates a token when you cast a spell...? Yeah, right. You draw 2 cards for 2 mana at instant speed and sacrifice that token, which doesn't hurt that much. Sometimes you can even sacrifice a land if you have got too many.

Removals

  • Path to Exile : Best removal spell in modern.

  • Vapor Snag : Get rid of a huge creature with a high converted mana cost or destroy a token. Moreover, it makes 1 damage to that creature's controller, which is always good.

Lands

I've chosen Spirebluff Canal , Inspiring Vantage and Seachrome Coast for two reasons.

  • Good lands are usually really expensive but these are not that much (they are not cheap, but their price is acceptable).
  • Modern is a quite fast format. It is important to have the right lands ready the first turns. These lands make just that. After turn three they slow you down, that's right, but the maximum CMC among the cards that compound this deck is 3, which means that with three lands you can play any card in your hand (unless you haven't the right mana colors to cast it, obviously)

Conclusion

I think this is a pretty solid, competitive and affordable deck for anyone who wants to play modern or casual. I hope you like it and please, give me any advices you've got.
