Sideboard

Maybeboard

Jeskai Delver Blade. I've had decent success so far, although I built it because it's affordable and fun.

I've beaten Miracles as I've played against it so far, but I definitely think the matchup favors them. For me, the goal post-board is to play an equipment, equip it to something, then turn it sideways. If they kill my attacker then I have to find another, until something connects.

RUG Delver is hard to beat, but it's probably due to my lack of experience in the matchup. I'm not good at playing through Stifle yet. Rest in Peace messes them up real good.

Combo decks tend to be pretty good matchups because I have a fast clock with Delver, resilient beaters to back it up, and permission for the whole game.

UB Death's Shadow should be a good matchup by virtue of Swords to Plowshares. I have no idea how I fare against Grixis Delver. I suspect I fare quite poorly vs grixis control.

Lands is rough, but winnable. Eldrazi is entirely dependent on getting True-Name Nemesis or Batterskull .

D&T would be better if I was a good player. I have so much removal, but their cards are better than mine. If usually win if I can connect with an equipped creature or land a True-Name Nemesis.

I miss Deathrite Shaman .

I built this deck! I think the only de-budgeting from here is more dual lands. But that's a bit too pricey for me. Probably not going to happen anytime soon. I'm amazed I own a Volcanic Island at all.

I went 4-0 with this tonight. Technically I went 3-0-1 because my round 4 opponent and I split, but we played a match anyway and I won so I'm counting it as 4-0.

Round 1: UR Sneak and Show. Game 1 I had all the answers. Game 2 I had all the answers. Afterwards he had all the salt. Enough said.

Round 2: UW Spirits. This deck was awesome. So cool to see it play. But I drew Grim Lavamancer into Umezawa's Jitte game 1 and 2 Delver of Secrets  Flip into lethal burn in game 2. Insane draws.

Round 3: UR Sneak and Show again. Game 1 we both Mulligan to 5, and I curve out with Delver and Grim Lavamancer and Jitte while holding Force of Will + blue cantrip the whole game. I didn't see anything to indicate Show and Tell except for Volcanic Island and no sources of white mana. But I boarded for Show and Tell anyway because it seemed the most likely. Game 2 I got True-Name Nemesis + Sword of Fire and Ice for a fast clock. He managed to cast Show and Tell the turn before I could kill him. I Forced, I think he Spell Pierced my Force, and I Brainstormed with only a Lightning Bolt in hand. I found a Daze and countered his Show and Tell. Super lucky again.

Round 4: RUG Delver. He got game 1 by Gooseing me out. Game 2 I resolved 2 True-Name Nemesis across a lot of turns, but it was enough. Game 3 I played an early Rest in Peace and we screwed each other's mana for a lot of turns. I drew 4 Swords to Plowshares. We each drew 3 Wasteland. This game went on forever with neither player really doing anything. He had 2 1/1 Gooses. I had a Delver, but it died. Then a Stoneforge, but the ETB trigger got Stifled and the Stoneforge got burned out. Eventually I got another delver and flipped it and got a Batterskull which got there by countering an Ancient Grudge.

The theme of tonight was amazing draws and that I shouldn't have been that lucky, but I was. $70 store credit pays for a lot of losing events.
