-I initially built a Mill deck around Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge, but at some point I was glancing at a Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck that liked a lot and I realized that my Jeleva deck was very similar to a typical Nekusar build. I am a huge fan of decks that can seamlessly alternate Commanders between games, but is a hard balance to achieve. I had previously done it with my Sigarda, Host of Herons/Dragonlord Dromoka Enchantress deck and I liked how that turned out. So here it goes for attempt #2 at an alternating Commander deck.

-I wanted a Mill deck for a long time but was slowed down by all of the anti-mill chatter all over the net. Obviously, Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge isn't an archetypal Mill Commander and red isn't usually present in Mill strategies, but Jeleva presents a unique and powerful twist along with a solid mill mechanic. The fact that her ability exiles makes it markedly more powerful than the typical mill effect. On average, I cast her around 4 times a game; which Exiles 28 cards per player (typically between 112 and 140 total cards from my opponents). I don't enjoy Combo-ing off and try to avoid winning that way. The upside is two-fold: 1. My games vary every time I play in regards to my cards played since I don't tutor combo pieces, and 2. I avoid sub-optimal cards whose only purpose is to suit a combo piece. So far, I find this build to be pretty competitive and a joy to pilot. In the event that someone has a Eldrazi Titan in their deck, i just switch Jeleva to Nekusar and don't miss a beat.
-Nekusar draws a lot of hate as a Commander in certain playgroups, but I figure that I can get away with it every now and then if I use him as a response to anti-mill cards primarily. Nekusar is amazing in the 99 of Jeleva Mill, so there is no drawback to using him as an alternate.
