Commander / EDH

They are important questions every new hydra owner asks, "Is my hydra strong enough?" "Is he/she eating enough mana?" "How many heads is healthy?" "Is that hydra poop stain permanent?"... Well good news, all of that can be found right here in my new book "How to Train You Hydra- an Elven Guide to Hydras". Because who doesn't want a bouncing baby hydra?

What your little sprouting hydra needs is plenty of attention and mana. This is why Elves are the foremost experts on raising healthy, strong, hydras. The Elves are masters of mana production. Elvish Archdruid, Joraga Treespeaker, Oracle of Mul Daya, and Priest of Titania are like the frickin' mana whisperers. These guys know how to product mana.

They can make even more mana by making more elves. Rhys the Redeemed knows the importance of an Elven mana horde. Standing upon the Elvish Promenade, Growing Ranks after ranks of mana dorks.

After you know you have enough mana to keep an energetic hydra big and strong, you can choose your hydra.

Hooded Hydra, Sprouting Phytohydra, and Hydra Broodmaster are great for those who want to try their hand at hydra breeding or want tons of little ones running around.

For those of you who want a more independent hydra, Kalonian Hydra,Primordial Hydra, and Protean Hydra love to take care of themselves.

If you are afraid your neighbors won't appreciate your new pet, Mistcutter Hydras tend to me immune to the worst of that.

So there you have it, a quick glimpse into the treasure trove of knowledge you will find in my new book "How to Train You Hydra- an Elven Guide to Hydras"

I constructed this as an outline for a commander deck for my friend. I asked what he wanted and he chose Selesnya, with primary attributes being Tokens, Counters, and Ramp. So, this is my first draft.

I would love some help to do the following

1) Make this deck more streamline/consistent.

2) If possible trade out the most expensive cards for more economically practical but similar cards. (Those would primarily be Rhys the Redeemed, Voice of Resurgence, and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, as they make up ~20% of the deck's cost)

any ideas on mechanics and combos that work well with a semi-elf tribal would also be appreciated.

Thanks
