I am a upper/high school librarian and have been cultivating- rather 'curating' a Library/Librarian themed EDH deck to bring to the table against my small group of EDH players. In this profession, books are key, so I have added many tomes, books, atlases, journals and the like as my main foundation. Next, I incorporated terms commonly found or associated with libraries like "archive", "network", "patron", "knowledge", "lore", "pages", "silence", etc. In deciding a commander, I think the one that I saw was the old school Nicol Bolas from Legends, but Grixis- especially Red- isn't a very good choice for the deck's theme. So I felt Esper provides the best options card choices... however, no Commanders jump out at me, so this is where I made the choice of Sydri, Galvanic Genius. She uses the word "Genius", so I figured it would work with a Library theme and I think there's a book in her picture. It's her activated ability that can provide a nice end game of turning all those 4CMC artifacts into 4/4 artifact creatures with deathtouch and lifelink.
