Creatures these days have too much text. Back in the good old days of magic, we got Kalonian Tusker printed and that was a big deal, changed the game (even if it ended up being not that good in the format. Like it was fine, but it wasn't the powercreep people thought it was back then. But I guess that it was, just that the effect creatures were already better. Wonder what that says.) I will force vanilla creatures to be good if it's the last thing I do.

The gameplan here is simple: play big vanilla creatures and slam them into the face of your opponents. At the very worst, the deck just plays lands and vanillas, using the arrival of Jasmine Boreal of the Seven to make sure that those beaters get in. Things are a bit more complicated than that, however. Cards like Flowering of the White Tree allow us to both protect Jasmine from threats and boost our vanilla horde, and we play many more anthems to the same affect, such as the original Muraganda Petroglyphs and more modern takes like Ruxa, Patient Professor. Many tokens are also vanillas, and so can be leveraged to get in large amounts of damage as well, and token generators like Cadira, Caller of the Small, Ezuri's Predation, and Maja, Bretagard Protector can generate vast armies made unblockable by our commander. Some adventure cards, like Cheeky House-Mouse and Shepard of the Flock, are vanilla creatures with added utility in the form of their adventures that both increase the utility of the deck without sacrificing the vanilla count needed to make it work.
