Standard BRGW Competitive Counters

Sideboard

Hello everyone! This is a list that I've been hiding since the prerelease! I wanted to make sure it was perfect when I released it and now I think it's ready! So let's start with the creatures. There is perfect synergy between all the creature. Anafenza can give counters to anything that attacks and shaman of the great hunt gives counter to anything that does damage. After killing a hangarback walker and having thopter tokens out, Drana can make the tokens huge and shaman can make them immense if they hit the other player. Zurgo Helmsmasher is a great turn 5 play because he is either killing a creature and getting bigger or hitting for atleast 7. Managorger is managorger, I don't think I have to explain anything for it past that. And lastly abzan falconer is basically a win condition if you play it with a couple creatures with counters out.The spells are pretty much all removal except for dromoka's command. It is a removal and a buff.Hardened scales is what makes this deck bonkers. The only weakness I saw with the deck was super Aggro and tutelage. So I put in some cards to help with Aggro and tutelage in the sideboard.Hope you like it!

Guide: Just for people who were thinking about playing this deck, there are a couple things that I've done that just make the deck look insane so I thought I would share a couple combos.1. Hardened Scales + Hangarback Walker+ Anafenza, the Foremost, this combo is great and it ends the game fast. If you can play these three cards in order, than you have a 6/6 hangarback on turn 4 because you can tap hangarback and then give him more counters by attacking with anafenza. If hangarback dies than just drop Sorin to give all the thopters +1/0 and lifelink. Game. Over

  1. Anafenza or Drana turn 3 into Shaman of the Great Hunt turn 4, this allows shaman to actually attack turn 4 without the likelihood of dying. If you do this than you can usually get through for about 7-10 damage on turn 4.

  2. Drana + Shaman of the Great Hunt + Thopter Tokens. Hmmmmm... Drana does damage. Then the Thopters do damage. With one hardened scales out than any of the thopters that do damage will be 5/5 after that. Just think about that.

  3. Anafenza + Abzan Falconer + Shaman/Zurgo Helmsmasher. I've won the game with this numerous times. If you have Anafenza and Abzan Falconer out, than you play a creature with haste, attack, give the creature with haste a counter and they have flying. I have attacked for 9 in the air numerous times with a Helmsmasher on turn 5.

  4. Hangarback + Dromoka's Command. If there is one thing I've learned, it's that people don't want to kill a massive hangarback. So what I've learned to do is when it gets big, hold a Dromoka's Command and when they make a creature so big that it could kill hangarback, than dromoka's command hangarback and that creature to get all of your tokens. Then you can combo the tokens with Sorin or whatever else you would like!

Thanks guys! If you would like a video guide on how the deck works than I would be more than willing to make it! I plan on taking this deck to GP Indy and I will let you know how I do after every night that I compete at my LGS!
