Who doesn't want to cheat out a Worldspine Wurm? I know I do.
4x Jalira, Master Polymorphist means we have a pretty good chance of hitting her. Her ability says we tutor for any non-legendary. Since Worldspine Wurm is the only other non-legendary creature in the deck, there's at least a 100% chance of getting it after Jalira goes off. And since there's two, I can still use Jalira if I happen to draw one of them. Without Jalira, we can still win using one or more of the many legendary creatures in the deck
Brimaz, King of Oreskos I needed more threats, and blockers, and brimaz fits the bill nicely. Makes more dudes, solid body, vigilance, plus everyone on the internet loves cats.
Polukranos, World Eater
is a 5/5 for 4. What more could you want? A monstrosity ability that doubles as high-end and/or mass removal you say? Merry Christmas.
Daxos of Meletis
is like Nightveil Spectre? on speed. Yoinking enemy cards, evasion, and as an added bonus Lifegain.
Thassa, God of the Sea let's me mulligan a draw every turn. She also makes something unblockable, so anything I want to get through can get through.
Raise the Alarm is 2 Jalira targets/chump blockers at instant speed for 2. Not too shabby.
Polymorphist's Jest
I don't like getting hit with lots of big creatures, turning everything into frogs doesn't sound like a bad idea.
In this current standard, we have a LOT of counterspells. Dissolve,
Render Silent
, Syncopate are the few I've decided to stick with, unless it is deemed I should have more. We still have access to Swan Song, Cancel and Negate as well.
Detention Sphere gets rid of many a pesky threat, and I think it's a wonderful card in Standard. It will be missed.
Sphinx's Revelation represents our ever-important card draw. Sphinx's Rev is a must in any U/W/x control deck, and will be sorely missed.
The land base is pretty self-explanatory, though maybe could use some work.
