After seeing the U/R Riddle Drake (Ixalan Standard $30 Budget Deck) deck I decided I'd beef it up out of a budget build and mess around with the deck to really focus on Enigma Drake! I wanted to try out having mild control over my opponents and attacking when the time is right. The basis of this deck is to pump the graveyard with Instants and Sorceries, ping with Firebrand Archer, and then pull out Enigma Drake and / or Cryptic Serpent (then possibly add Fling for a direct hit?)!

I do feel that this deck is on the fence of being a burn / tempo deck and I'm considering cutting out Riddleform to really pump the number of instants and possibly throw in Bloodwater Entity, Baral, Chief of Compliance, and possibly some higher CMC instants / sorceries. I'm also seeing other R/U decks using Insult / Injury as potential game winners and to toss double damage a pumped up Enigma Drake or Cryptic Serpent.

Any help / feedback would be greatly appreciated! I'm gonna test it out at FNM this week and I'll update after with results.

Took this to my LGS and did quite well! I moved Sweltering Suns to my mainboard and it worked surprisingly well! Cryptic Serpent,Enigma Drake, and Torrential Gearhulk can survive the blast and it's a solid board wipe. It saved me against a Naya Dino-Ramp deck clearing all the humans, and it was also super helpful against a God Pharaoh's gift deck. One of my losses came from getting mana-blocked (I only pulled two lands and went with it) the second (and final loss) was against a cycling Drake Haven deck (literally could not handle all the enchantments).

I did find myself utilizing the mulligan almost every other game, so I need to take a better look at the mana, I may need to add another card or two, but once I had 2-3 lands in hand I was fine and was able to use Crash Through, Supreme Will, Chart a Course (and discard an instant to pump the deck) for additional draw.

Other than that I added Torrential Gearhulk and that really came in clutch in a few games. I honestly didn't expect this deck to fair as well as it did. I need to finalize the cards I'm using, but we'll see what Rivals of Ixalan brings to this deck!
