You'd like to cast a spell? No. But you get a 3rd degree burn as a consolation prize.

General strategy

Cast as many burn spells as possible, (ab)using them with Alchemist for extra damage and casting them ahead of curve with Baral. Counters are incharge of keeping opposing threats at bay.

Burn

I was looking for an assortment of effective burn spells as low on the curve as possible. Hungry Flames may be high end on the curve, but it's great creature removal, essentially Collective defiance being smaller and instant. Fiery Temper should never be anything less than a Lightning Bolt or a finisher. With Baral and Voices, that shouldn't be much of a problem. Incendiary Flow is the card I have most doubts about, but it can hit face, sinergizes with Baral well enough and delivers a decent dmg quantity. Pass. But I'd take Lightning Strike over this any day of the week if only it was legal in standard. Shock is dirt cheap removal for small annoying creatures and burn for the face. It might be sub optimal in terms of dmg output, but I wanted a cheap instant way to hurt planeswalkers, because Saheeli will be a thing. Thermo-Alchemist is more of a win condition. Short-term it doesn't do much. But it is a decent blocker that, if left unchecked, can get our opponent low enough on life to get them into danger of being swiftly burned down to 0. Fevered Visions are a decent draw, which we need, and solid burn if the format allows it. Now last format was too fast for this to be consistently good. However with Copter getting a ban I find it likely that format will slow down drastically, maybe even enough for this to be even considered a win condition.

Counters

4 Revolutionary Rebuff because it's the closest thing to an univrsal counter we have right now this low on the curve. 3 Negate because, as I stated earlier, I think Saheeli will be a thing and that format in general will slow down. Negate could thrive in such enviroment. I'm also considering Horribly Awry and I would then play 3 Rebuff, 3 Avry and 2 Negate in main.

Support

Baral is the MVP of the deck. It lowers our curve even more and doubles as a draw and discard outlet. I love the card and is one of the cards I feel will get the Blue hulk treatment; it probably will cost double what it does now in a few weeks for a reason. Tormenting Voice is a solid draw. I'd much rather have something instant speed or draw, then discard, but Catalog costs a bit more and that is a factor when you're going all out.

Manabase

22 lands. It is low, but I want to avoid manascrew and the deck should be able to run just fine at 3-4 lands. Baral is a factor so we have very little use for colorless mana. That with the fact that the deck lacks energy outlets means Aether Hub is out of question. 4 Spirebluff Canal is a must because it's practically a Volcanic island in here. Wandering Fumarole does not amaze and it might get down to 3 or even 2, but it's a dual land that can be a blocker or a finisher, that is something.

This is just an initial draft, but it is what I currently see as my standard deck until format gets defined enough that I can build a decent control deck around that format.

I Hope you like it, I'm open for all your comments and suggestions. +1 would be nice if you like the deck.
