Trying out Control in the new Standard block.

Izzet this time, the deck is mostly counters, trying to slow the game to a snail's pace.

Cancel and Dissipate are both 1UU so once a Goblin Electromancer hits the field they're UU (while Goblin Electromancer is on the field Dissipate > Counterspell).

If they do resolve anything to the field Cyclonic Rift, Izzet Charm and Izzet Staticaster should be able to take care of it. Izzet Staticaster is also a nuke for 1/1 Tokens.

The deck mostly wins by slowing the game down until either Hypersonic Dragon or Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius can come onto the field. Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius has the added benefit of pinging without tapping and MASSIVE card advantage (an empty hand is 4 cards the turn after he drops if you can tap out, 3 pings and him swinging).

As always I am open to any suggestions. I originally was planning on playing Izzet as a burn deck, but it seems to have a pretty strong control game. I may add Delver of Secrets  Flip for an early game beater.

Any cards you think belong in the deck/function better than what is in the deck will be taken into consideration.

-3x Hypersonic Dragon: I run 0 sorceries. A 4/4 flier with haste would be nice, but guttersnipe makes my counterspells deal damage

-1x Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius:brings avg cmc below 3.
