Young Pyromancer Tempo - No Delvers!

Modern Competitive Tempo Tokens UR (Izzet)

GVBattell

Sideboard

This is my Young Pyromancer Tempo build. the main goal of this goal is to use Young Pyromancer and your control magic to contain the board. Then you use Spellheart Chimera and your army of elementals built by Young Pyromancer to finish the game. I'm not including Delver of Secrets   as I don't like it, period. So please: be more creative with suggestions.

Guttersnipe Is a good alternative to Young Pyromancer and it can close the game down on its own. However it isn't a card which will in the game on its own so it has to be used in conjunction with your spells and later Spellheart Chimera.

The Scry mechanic is a subtheme in his deck, with Temple of Epiphany, Dissolve, Magma Jet & Voyage's End helping you thin through the deck finding the parts you need. Anticipate acts as a 'Super-Scry' - . This is because I found in testing that Telling Time meant that I could be forced into drawing cards I wouldn't need at that time.

The Counter/Burn aspect of this deck is fairly basic. Lightning Bolt does not need any explanation, and Magma Jet deals with early game threats and lets you Scry. The Counter package is a little more complex. Remand may end up becoming a 3 of, in replace of 1 Mindswipe however this may not necessarily end up being the case as the latter can be very playable both early and late game. other than providing additional burn Mindswipe does suffer from being a soft counter. Crater's Claw can be great spot removal where Magma Jet or Lightning Bolt fall short or it can burn out an opponent. it isn't often cast of its ferocious trigger, but that can be a nice bonus if you have Spellheart Chimera in play.

Voyage's End is complimented by 1 Cyclonic Rift which is included to provide board-wipe if necessary. Retaining Voyage's End adds to the decks Scry, which is it's primary reason for include in the deck. These cards are also vital for saving key creatures if targeted by spells which would otherwise destroy them. Saving a Young Pyromancer or other creature from mass board-wipe or spot removal with one of these cards has helped win games in play testing.

Izzet Charm is included as a 4 of because it literally does everything a card needs to in this deck. It acts as a manaleak, a Magma Jet or a Impulse styled card and saves vital space in the deck count. It is my personal favorite card for this deck.

The sideboard is personal to my local meta and budget. key upgrades may be Shatter for Shattering Spree and maybe looking at Anger of the Gods. I also really wish to make Boil or Flashfires useable. however neither are of use in my local meta, but may be good for your builds.

With the help of the 'TO' community I have built a pretty solid Build. I love playing this deck on MTGO and have had relative success. Also, I enjoy fun rules to hose myself, I wont want the deck to become ridiculously costly - Blood Moon already doubles the cost of this deck. In testing i have found that Evolving Wilds haven't hindered the deck, so long as you are comfortable playing them. that being said, I may indeed be upgrading them for Scalding Tarn's in the near future.

Many thanks for taking the time to look at this deck, 'Up-vote' if you liked it!

Also I hate Delver of Secrets   so please don't suggest that.
