MTG Deck Builder

Isperia, Supreme Pillowfighter

General

Description

First draft of a Pillowfort/Defensive deck based around the Isperia I got recently. I could really do with some suggestions on this deck.

The main objective of this deck is to make it unfavorable to attack you, while you set up nasty things such as Luminarch Ascension .

Some fun options are included (such as Minds Aglow and Switcheroo ) for the fun factor.

Comments/Feedback/+1 appreciated, thanks :)

@tkpritch221: Normally, I prefer Phyrexian Revoker because it's a body and shuts down mana abilities. I'll test both.

Any ideas on what to take out?

i'm not sure what your meta looks like, but i've always found counterspell-type cards to be relatively ineffective at a big table...obvious exceptions are Hinder and Spell Crumple for generals. if you play a lot of multiplayer games, i think you can safely drop Rewind and Dissipate . when every player plays a bomb every turn, what's to gain if you're not shuffling their commander into their library?

Well I guess so. I've been considering these options.

Leyline of Sanctity -> Witchbane Orb

The orb is recurable via Academy ruins, and Tezz can tutor it.

Rewind -> Phyrexian Revoker

Dissipate -> Hallowed Burial /Terminus

As per your suggestion

In my experience, stuff like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda do not work that well in EDH. I know for a fact that mono green/ mono black doesn't care, and neither do Voltron builds. And of course they'll pay that mana to be able to attack you with Kozilek, Butcher of Truth , Kaalia of the Vast , Balefire Dragon etc...

If you're playing card:Tormod's Crypt, consider playing Web of Inertia as well. You'll have some trouble recurring it if you don't play stuff like Sanctum Gargoyle though.

@Manji187: Being attacked by 1 creature is a lot better than being attacked by a zerg rush of tokens, you know. The enchantments hold off the early attacks, and let you set up.

I'll try Web of Inertia , but the Crypt can be recurred by Academy Ruins and Sun Titan .

@FoxOn36: Well, there's also Silent Arbiter .

As for the enchantments, huge emphasis on early in "early attacks". Mid to late game, those enchantments (if they make it that far) won't save you from the big nasty stuff. I know because I had them both in my card:Hanna, Ship's Navigator deck.

Yeah, Sun Titan is good (especially if you blink him or if you can attack freely with him), but Academy Ruins slows you down a bit unless you ensure more card draw.

But hey, whatever works for you.

@Manji187: Currently, I'm only testing this deck, so only time will tell. But if the enchantments don't impress me, then they can go.

Thanks for reminding me of Silent Arbiter , I'll try to get a copy.
