This is my current Jund deck that im running at my local tournaments, it does pretty decent in my meta except that it is pretty slow compared to my decks from pre-rotation.
There isnt much to combo in here, everything sort of fends for itself.
Desecration Demon is a nice sac engine, i dont often get to attack with it, but it does help to keep my opponents field in check.
Dreg Mangler was put in because the early game of the deck is pretty weak to fast aggro, this guy has a good sized body and if he hits the graveyard at all then in the late game I can turn something into an attacker.
Tragic Slip , Sever the Bloodline and Dreadbore provide tons of spot removal, and morbid is almost always active, especially with the demon out. I was going to have bonfire in here but i found that mortars is much better to draw early game, and just as effective late game (not as brutal, but still does a good job).
Deathrite Shaman is a card i just love, and feel is extremely underrated, ive cast him in every game ive played and have used him to gain about 4-6 life and deal about the same amount of damage, and provide mana ramp before the opponent decides to use a kill spell on him. So much value.
Abrupt Decay : some extra removal, if the opponent is running lots of keyrunes or some other cheap permanent thats giving the deck some grief then in this comes.
Desecration Demon : Sometimes overkill is necessary. About 1/3rd of the decks i go up against in my meta cant deal with the demon, so trying to bring out multiples is a game ender.
Flames of the Firebrand : Some nice utility burn, take out planeswalkers, or a couple of guys on the field, whatever is needed.
Mizzium Mortars : Had this mainboard before but needed a spot for Sever the Bloodline instead. That being said this is a great card regardless and i expect to side this in vs those people who want lots of little men to control.
Golgari Charm : Enchantments are a bit of a pain to remove, so best to have something just in case. The other effects are very handy too seeing as none of my creatures have 1 toughness.
Slaughter Games : This can ruin some control decks, as long as you know what you need to search for.
Underworld Connections : This is amazing, i try to side this in against any matchups that arent pure "smash-face-burn" aggro styles. The card advantage is just incredible.
I have sideboarded Mizzium Mortars in favor of Sever the Bloodline . Exile is highly important in my meta as well as most others i assume, especially since there is nothing in standard that states "cannot be regenerated".
Glares at Lotleth Troll
If you want to make your opponents sacrifice big creatures, you can't just rely on Olivia Voldaren to kill off their chumps. Slum Reaper , Liliana of the Veil , Tribute to Hunger are all good cards to clear away creatures and cards like Electrickery can clear the board of a whole lot 1/1s that would otherwise stop your Desecration Demon from attacking. Rakdos, Lord of Riots and Heartless Summoning can considerably lower the casting cost of your creatures. I'm glad to see you have Mizzium Mortars . Cards like Grisly Salvage and Vampire Nighthawk really don't help your final goal of getting opponents to sac their key creatures to keep Desecration Demon at bay so I'd cut them. I'd almost say the same for Deathrite Shaman , but it's a nice cheap card that can put a stop to things like Gravecrawler and Reassembling Skeleton and keeps your life total up.
A very nice Jund Deck.Although, I'm not sure if Havoc Festival is competitive enough. Especially if you only have the one. Yes is would be funny to watch their expression. But why not play a Thundermaw Hellkite or a Falkenrath Aristocrat instead? I like the mention above of Slum Reaper . Brings back happy memories of Fleshbag Marauder . If you ran Borderland Ranger you could sac the weaker ranger and keep the stronger one. Also with Borderland Ranger Its a cute human for Falkenrath Aristocrat to cuddle up with.
I have tried using Thundermaw Hellkite in this deck before, but the problem is that whenever i casted him it was more like "Yay!, a decent blocker!", the deck isnt aggro enough to facilitate him even though it seems awesome.
Slum Reaper seems interesting, ill have to see how my meta develops to see if its worthwhile.
This looks like an awesome deck. Its very similar to my Jundastic Midrange (Please Check Out) deck.
I absolutely LOVE Deathrite Shaman , and agree that he is totally underrated.
How does Grisly Salvage work for you?
I seriously recomend you test with Golgari Charm . I really like Golgari Charm , i think it has a ton of potential. So it fights boardwipe like Supreme Verdict , destroys Detention Sphere , and can destroy a bunch of mana dorks. People talk about super secret tech, well here it is.
@ DiamondFlavor I know what you mean, and i was apprehensive about putting it in at first, but every time i cast it i have had so much use out of it, drawing a card every turn easily can put you in front of the game. Brimstone Volley is something i forgot about, maybe ill drop a tragic slip and something else to make it a 2 of.
@ bml1359 Its just html code which displays an image from anywhere on the net, i could make it show cupcakes if i really wanted. the code i used is

without the space between "<" and "img"
A friend of mine said that i should use Faithless Looting over Grisly Salvage , but i disagree. also a few people in my area think its better to have the Underworld Connections in sideboard with rakdos return in the main, again im unsure if that is worth it or not.
Like Voss said, enchantments are the main concern, especially when theres a couple of decks in my meta running Battle of Wits (LOL)
Even without the overload the mortars is fantastic, perhaps outside of my meta the overload would be more useful, lots of decks use 2 or maybe 3 creatures in my area. Deathrite shaman is a but weird, because people prefer to save spot removal for any of my 4 drops, but he is still a threat
Well this deck is amazing and the night hawks are huge assets against true aggro decks and pesky fliers . So def a +1 from me since I have a jund deck my self , but instead it's all about the counters :: jund-counter-nation . I think I'm going to steal your idea of underworld connection just to say . It's really important to stay ahead of the opponent and its Good to see you realized that. Again nice deck and deck name gl with your fnms .
Fling may actually be decent, would allow me to burn planeswalkers too which can be very handy.
Yeh i dropped the lich lord altogether, i just had it there because i had one in my rares folder and i thought...why not :P. I may put in another Thragtusk , but currently my meta requires more conscripts than usual. (like i said before, its a bit of a weird meta, we have 2x Battle of Wits decks, for example)
if your still concerned about speed the only card i can think of is Infernal Plunge ive been experimenting with it and its kinda like a small burst of speed that if u stop its hard to start again (IMO) but its pretty good if u can turn 2 CMC 4 creatures if there not to color intensive
BTW pump Fling is amazing so scavenge fling could rock a couple of people pretty badly
Tragic Slip is such a powerful card, more powerful than Murder . it gets around regeneration and indestructible creatures, plus it only costs 1 mana. Sure it wont always be turned on but all you need to do is chump block something, or have them sac to Desecration Demon or block with Vampire Nighthawk . Dont forgot that the opponent will be trying to kill my fatties pretty much constantly.
Having to only keep 1 mana open allows you to play more things on your turn rather than skipping a turn because you wanted to kill a dude.
I can't help but feel like you are running too many creatures and not enough instants/sorceries... That said, where is Thundermaw Hellkite !? I couldn't imagine running my deck without him. My build is very heavy on red and black, which I (personally) think is the correct way to go with jund. Why the evolving wilds? Do you just not have access to full duals playsets? I can imagine it is really adding to the slowness of the deck. I also tried running Desecration Demon , and I was very happy with him, but still ended up taking him out of my deck for more hard removal. Have a look at my deck and see what you think: Jund Midrange I've been winning FNM's, and have yet to run into something that I truly struggle against.
