U/R combo deck for Kaladesh standard. The combo is to have one Whirler Virtuoso in play along with three Decoction Module effects this allows you to pay three energy to make a thopter to generate three more mana, loop this and you can make infinite thopters. I say effects because you can use one or two Panharmonicons to duplicate the Decoction trigger and if your going off at sorcery speed Saheeli can duplicate a combo piece. Also if your combination is two Decoction Module one Panharmonicon you also generate infinite energy. A nice thing about this combo is that with enough energy you can combo through instant speed removal. Say they target the Virtuoso with the energy gain on the stack if you already have three energy you can just make a thopter in response and combo off over their spell if they have anouther one all you need is three more energy to beat that one and so on until you run dry on E or they run out of removal.


Whirler Virtuoso- One of your main combo pieces this guy is also pretty good by himself.

Glint-Nest Crane- You need a lot of artifacts to combo off and this let's you find them while also being an effective blocker. Absolutely insane with Panharmonicon out letting you search the top eight and get two. I need to find a few more artifacts to guarantee hits but this bird is still amazing.

Hedron Crawler- Since having Panharmonicon out is such a boon to the deck its worth getting out a turn earlier.

Filigree Familiar - Foxes are my favorite animal and this might be the first constructed playable one since Eight and a Half Tails. This beauty is a ton of value and helps with the aggro match ups. With Panharmonicon down it becomes nearly impossible for aggro to get through a couple of these guys resolving.


Panharmonicon- You may have noticed the trend where every card becomes insanely better if this thing is on the table and that's because this is a fundamentally broken card. The difference between having Panharmonicon and not having it is staggering and I would prioritize getting this over any other combo piece even though it's technically Modules two and three. A word of warning though, it can be very tempting to not play your cards on curve cause you'll get more value out of them after playing Panharmonicon, this is wrong. Two extra life off a Familiar won't help as much as getting it out sooner against aggro.

Decoction Module- Your other key combo piece this also gains you extra energy so you can combo through removal and let's you reuse your etb creatures after playing Panharmonicon. Its a champ in the late game when you can use extra mana to get value.

Aetherworks Marvel - You can gain a lot of extra energy with this deck and this seemed like the best way to efficiently use it, combo decks love tutors especially ones that let you cheat on mana.

Glassblower's Puzzleknot- This really helps bring the deck together, it scrys for for combo pieces gains you E and provides a late game mana sink. Needless to say Panharmonicon makes this much better letting you srcy two twice and gain 4 energy for just two mana.


Saheeli Rai- Saheeli is phenomenal in this deck. Her plus helps to find combo pieces, her minus let's you duplicate combo pieces or exploit etbs and Panharmonicon even more, if you ever ultimate her she assembles most of the combo herself but you never ult her because her minus is just to good.


Harnessed Lightning- With all the E produced by this deck this is a great removal spell.

Unsubstantiate- This is all around good. It delays your opponents spells defends against their creatures and can be used on your own creatures to reuse etbs or protect from removal.


Aether Hub- Gaining extra energy is useful and this is pretty good color fixing, I've been debating adding in off color puzzleknots to take advantage of the extra colored mana.


Ceremonious Rejection- Eldrazi have been a pretty good deck in their various forms and I figure that some version of them will prevail. Its also likely some kind of artifact deck might come out of Kaladesh best to be safe.

Elder Deep-Fiend- This deck tends to be a bit soft to control. Anguished Unmaking can kill Panharmonicons as soon as you play them, board wipes break the combo as well as clear your utility creatures out, you can lose key pieces to counters, and all that's before they side in the anti artifact package their bound to have. Elder Deep-Fiend is a beast against control, a turn three Familiar let's him come down on turn four on their upkeep to tap them down basically taking their whole turn away and giving you a big beater and one unimpeded turn. With Decoction module out you can bounce it back to your hand in response to removal and recast it later.

Galvanic Bombardment- A simple shock for more aggressive decks.

Imprisoned in the Moon- Other then thopter beats you really don't have good main deck interaction for Planeswalkers.

Negate- A solid catch all for non creature spells. I use Negate over dispell because it hits bourd wipes.

Turn Aside- Protection against all kinds of targeted remove for combo pieces.

I did try out Reckless Fireweaver but most of the time the combo was enough to win without him and he isn't great unless you combo. He'll have a place in the sideboard if the metas heavy on board wipes and he would be great if you modified the deck to be more aggressive dropping the familiar and running Smuggler Copter as search that clocks then his pings would be better able to win without going infinite. I'm just liking the more combo oriented build then the aggro one.

Hey, that's probably the most solid version of this deck i saw but still i'm worried about one thing, what do we do if we don't draw the thopter generator or if he gets killed whenever we play him. I was thinking about adding green because that gives us acces to Eldrich Evolution and pulse of murasa in the sideboard against contol decks to get them back, thoughts on that?

Aether Hub makes it really tempting to splash more colors. Servant of the Conduit is way better then hedron crawler and would help fix your mana Pulse looks phenomenal even if its just getting back cranes and familiars. Eldrich Evolution is a bit tough to splash being double G but you could move more towards a panharmonicon energy good stuff deck that can combo if need be. As for my UR version the combo of panharmonicon and glassblowers puzzleknot digs really well when you need to and aetherworks marvel is really great for find stuff so I'm rarely unable to find the virtuoso.

Yes vehicles are a really tough match up and I sideboard heavily for them. I'm considering putting Brutal Expulsion in but that might be to slow. Hopefully there's better artifact hate for red in Aether Revolt.

I think putting two Fabrication Modules into the deck might also be a good idea. Considering the theme is to gain 3 energy with Decoction Module, you can put several tokens into play with multiple +1/+1's on them.

Thanks all. Dec in Stone does kill all the thopters but unless they take out the virtuoso first I can still pump out a billion thopters at instant speed. I'm trying out Fabrication Module cause the energy generation is pretty good here and randomly enormous cranes and foxes seems fun.

So gave this deck a test run over the last week. Tested against mono green aggro (reminds me of my g/u infect modern deck), u/w spirits, and Naya Superfriends. First round of testing went 0-2, 0-2, 1-2. Then I made a few changes, then played in the same order went the same record. Third round of testing was a lot better. Went 1-2, 1-2, 2-1. I would've won the first two matches but I was 1 turn from comboing off. Some of the things I noticed was that this deck needed card draw. Scry helps, but you need to draw the card when you scry for it so you can get it into your hand and possibly play. Also, I noticed that you could possibly empty out your hand quickly. So here are the changes I made. Took out 2 Harmonicon (wanted to lower the curve to make faster), 1 Aetherworks Marvel (didn't really flow with deck), 2 Unsubstantiate (didn't see it enough to make a difference), 3 Hedron Crawler (better artifact creatures out there), 1 Era of Innovation (slowed the deck down). Things I added, 1 Saheeli Rai (Powerhouse with the scry and copy, also takes the pressure off your life total), 2 Lupine Prototype (cause you can dump your hand quickly, turns into a 5/5 beater for 2 mana, also helps it is artifact creature), 3 Anticipate (deck needs card draw and this is good at instant speed), 2 Reckless Bushwhacker (pay the surge cost and know all those thopters have haste and a +1/+0 buff.) Of course, this is going from your orginal list. It's almost there, still need to make it a little bit faster.

Thank you for doing some serious testing. I've noticed that this deck can be built more aggressively and I've mostly stayed away from that line mainly because aggro isn't really my play style. You play Infect in modern while I'm a dedicated Tron player, I've never been good with aggro I just don't have the correct mindset. If you want to keep going aggro I'd suggest Reckless Fireweaver and Smuggler's Copter. The fireweaver does let you avoid combat and board wipes when you combo but he isn't good by himself unless you can realistically win without the combo and he makes playing virtuoso and just dumping as many thopters as you can pretty good. The copter of coarse is being jammed in tons of decks but a clock that loots for combo pieces is to good provided the damage is useful. I'm definitely going to cut at least one panharmonicon it's to unwieldy and playing hedron crawler to try and drop it turn three is a pipe dream. I actually traded anticipates out for era of innovation because I wanted to draw what I scryed and for general card advantage plus another E generator I'll probably add anticipate back in though. A third Saheeli would be nice but I'm on a bit of a budget so she'll have to wait. I think the marvel is a bit funky because you're using a four mana spell to cheat out two and three mana spells, it'd be so much better in a deck with gearhulks but its still great card selection and there are times you generate enough E to activate it every turn. How has the crane been treating you with less artifacts in the deck?

I am still able to hit an artifact everytime I play a crane. It might not be decotion modoule, but it is something that I can find a use for. What sucks with the crane is when you get 2 artifacts and 2 whirler's and you have to put the whirler's on the bottom. Makes me cry knowing that 2 of my 4 combo piece is on the bottom. The only reason why I am trying to go more aggro with this deck, is because of my local meta. It is very fast meta. And in modern, I play merfolk as well, but I do also play Grixis Delver, Lantern Control (yes I am that guy), and I have a metalcraft combo deck. I am more of control player at heart and that is my play style. But I found this deck interesting cause you can bring out a ton of thopters and nothing but Summary Dismissal can stop it. I thought about putting Smuggler's Copter in, but everyone and their grandmother is running that card. I tend to stay away from cards like that. I never thought about reckless fireweaver for the deck. It kind of works like Lightning weaver does in the u/r fevered visions deck. Thanks for the tip. I will try that.

Hi I commented before linking my infinite combo using Panharmonicon. I have been trying my deck out a lot of different ways and now have a crazy mill combo with toolbox and self-mill / GY action. I have tried Refurbish in my deck, but it's already temur colored so its awk even with just 1.. BUT, you dont have a third color yet. what if you worked in some looting / self milling and splashed white for Refurbish? That way it can be both Panharmonicon or Decoction Module. You could play Perpetual Timepiece or Minister of Inquiries to complement Refurbish, or Oath of Jace and Cathartic Reunion. could take the place of Glint-Nest Crane / Glassblower's Puzzleknot / Anticipate / Filigree Familiar. maybe still keep 1 or 2 of each idk.

I like this deck a lot. Have you thought about possibly splashing white to benefit from Aetherstorm Roc? Just a thought, since it will work hand in hand with Decoction Module and Panharmonicon as another source of energy to hit infinite thopters!

I've been testing this online as well and after your original list I thought it was decent. I then replaced Filigree Familiar with Reckless Fireweaver and it is brutal, by the time I drop a Virtuoso and Fireweaver I usually have 10-15 Energy and a module and Panharmonicon out so just creating thopters that deals lethal doubling Fireweaver's triggers. Also thinking about running 3 Stoneforge Masterwork incase we have to deal big damage quick in the air with an equipped thopter. Awesome deck so far though, really have enjoyed playing it.

I did have Reckless Fireweaver in the list for a while and in testing it was always a dud. It constantly got hit with removal the turn after playing it so I started trying to hold it till I needed it where it was always clunky. Maybe it was just a string of bad luck I'll try adding two back in and see how it performs.

I built a U/G/r version of this deck when the set dropped, and have had mixed results against all kinds of archetypes. It's seems to perform well against most slower-tempo decks, but falls flat against fast aggro. Having the green energy production and mana fixing is nice, as well as Bristling Hydra and Architect of the Untamed for an alt win con, but I think the R/U version here is more efficient, with some modification. I'll upload my build if it become viable, but as of now, it's not a finisher. Still very fun to play, even if it's at the kitchen table...

I did a recent FNM test with this deck, and I would recommend taking out 1 Decoction Module and 1 Glassblower's Puzzleknot, and add in 2 Aether Meltdown. This is a really nice card mainly against delirium to always have in the deck. But it's great for almost anything. But I really do enjoy the fun in this deck. Easy upvote.

On top of that Metalwork Colossus gives me a big body that I can drop for next to nothing due to the abundance of artifacts. Weilding Sparks serves as a nice kill spell and Aetherworks Meltdown can generate some energy and remove an opponents threats from the board.

I have worked on this deck since Kaladesh release.

Temur Delerium "Energy Combo" is the deck-list I'm currently using. I have several other attempts on my profile. They wont link for some reason :P

If you are going for this version I defiantly think that Reckless Bushwhacker is better than Reckless Fireweaver though. It allows you to win without going infinite really easily. ~30 damage from 0 and 0 board having only 1 Decoction Module and 1 Panharmonicon playing a Whirler Virtuoso and then Reckless Bushwhacker for surge on 5 land.

I've played R/W vehicles with my version of the deck and I've won a couple of games, not rounds, against it mostly due to Chandra's Pyrohelix which lets me kill 2 Toolcraft Exemplar turn 2. My with R/W vehicles is that I either stomp it or it stomps me. Infinite Thopters, Izzet in Kaladesh? is my current standard deck if you want to see

Hey you should consider Sculpting Steel as it allows you to have an extra Panharmonicon or Decoction Module

Quicksmith Genius is pretty fun in the deck too.

And Radiant Flames is awesome against aggro decks.(And with Aether Hub you can trigger the 3rd color)

EgyptianSpaceGamer thats perfect lol.Going to do my own build of this deck but im fusing it with Corrosive_Cat's own UR combo deck The Inspector's Schedule [Izzet Artifacts]. Only suggestion to your deck is adding Gonti's Aether Heart as in the combo it is 2 Decoction Modules and will reduce the combo down to 3 cards, preferably Panharmonicon + Whirler Virtuoso + Gonti's Aether Heart . This allows the deck to drop Panharmonicon + Whirler Virtuoso before T6 and on T6 drop gonti's heart and instantly get infinite energy and thopters, then exile the heart to take an extra turn and not even allow your opponent a final turn before you swing for the win.

I have a more noob-ish question on the interactions here: If I put down a creature, will two Decoction Modules or one and a Panharmonicon trigger a Fabrication Module's ability twice as each ability activates separately, therefore resulting in multiple counters given (two in the above scenario), or does it all trigger at once and you only get a single counter?

Fun deck. It seems to piece together a bit faster and more reliably than my own fumbling, super cheap attempt at infinite energy Life and energy.

AcerbicSleight 2 counters would be given as they trigger at the same time but are 2 different triggers causing you to put both on the stack and decide which resolves 1st, because of this you get 2 energy counters at different times causing you to get 2 +1/+1 counters. Now i had a "Factory Workers" deck that used all of the modules and Panharmonicon and at points when you had 4 servo's entering at the same time from Animation Module would get insane with how much math you ended up doing.

Ares111123 Thanks for that info! I just replaced a few poor cards in my other deck with it and a few more Decoction Modules and that math is pretty twisted and nasty in conjunction with attacking with multiple and then bouncing one Aethergeode Miner to trigger extra counters to overpower blocking creatures. That's an interesting mechanic.
