Solid solid. Great mana curve, all killer cards.

Crypt Ghast should definitely find its way to your main board, as well as Cabal Coffers. Between your big pricey creatures and a major drain spell, access to huge mana will be crucial.

A few potential additions: Nirkana Revenant , Subversion , Storm Herd , Diabolic Tutor (depending on your stance on tutors), Corrupt /Consume Spirit , Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief , Chalice of Life  Flip , Phyrexian Processor (bonkers with Vish Kal), Temporal Extortion , Serra Avatar .

Oh and No Mercy to potentially replace Spear of Heliod, and consider Norn's Annex for another tax effect.

Thanks for taking a look babydaggers!

That's pretty funny, I've actually got a Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers on the way that I ordered a few days ago, so they'll definitely be in. I like and actually had No Mercy and Subversion in the deck, but they were pushed out for other good stuff. I may find a spot for them again soon.

Of your suggestions, Nirkana Revenant , Phyrexian Processor and Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief seem like they would be pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of Storm Herd , but it would make a massive army by the time I could cast it. As far as tutors, I'm fine with them, but if it's not a Demonic Tutor or Vampiric Tutor , then I would run something like Increasing Ambition to net more cards or pull out a combo.

Maybe consider Blood Tribute ? You seem to have quite a few Vampires and it certainly fits life loss/gain. Also, I imagine Sorin, Lord of Innistrad wouldn't be a bad addition either.

@Snarejohnson: Boon Reflection seems pretty cool. I'm still getting a feel for this deck since I don't get to play it often, but if I'm looking for another Rhox, that's a definite.

@JamesAzimuthPHD: Blood Tribute is pretty awesome. I saw it a while ago and completely forgot about it, so thank you for reminding me! Sorin, Lord of Innistrad is nice, and it was a tossup between him and Sorin, Solemn Visitor , and in the end Visitor got the slot because that plusser lasts until my next turn, and in a pinch he can create respectable tokens. I've been thinking of taking this more in a token route, but I don't want it to just end up as a Teysa, Orzhov Scion deck.

I don't think Beacon of Immortality works with Sanguine Bond, because you aren't actually gaining life, just doubling. Besides that though, this seems like a great deck.

Love it! Awesome control strategy. Only thing lacking is multiple card draw. Erebos, God of the Dead is good but Necropotence , Greed , or Promise of Power may be good additions as well.

@BIGBADBRRRAP: I do have a Wound Reflection sitting around. I'll give it a shot and see if it makes the cut!

@Jonnn: Anytime your life total changes to a higher amount, the game considers it as life gain. Gatherer confirms this in a ruling for Beacon of Immortality. And because of that, some people do put up a fight about it, but it does the job :)

@thuzra: Correct and thanks!

@jpgcoleman: I agree I need a few more multiple card draw options in the deck. I ran Promise of Power for a while, and while good I just always felt I had better things to do with the 5 or 9 mana. Greed is also a card I ran for a bit, and it ended up just not making the cut, though it might be time to reconsider. Necropotence is just broken, so it should probably be in here as well ;)

Thanks for the suggestions!

Needs more Hatred. Use what you're gaining!

Reading your description, I think you misunderstand how the replacement effect of putting your general into the command zone works, if you do that instead of exiling, he doesn't come back, but maybe I'm just reading your description wrong.

The deck looks good, although I'm surprised to see no Marsh Flats in the mana base.

@katfude: Hatred seems insane in this build, it's definitely in!

@PlattBonnay: I'm confident about how Obzedat's trigger and command-zone replacement effect work, but I will clarify in the description with a little more technical detail. I forgot about Marsh Flats because I only have one right now, but this is definitely the deck it should go in, thanks!

Have you considered Smothering Tithe + Revel in Riches for extra ramp plus a win con?
