Aggro Wizard tokens with Ambuscade Shaman, Boltwing Marauder, Ogre Battledriver, and In the Web of War

Inalla, Archmage Ritualist and Naban, Dean of Iteration have unlocked the aggro potential of all Wizards.

Even small wizards and copied tokens become massive threats after getting pumped by Ambuscade Shaman, Boltwing Marauder, Ogre Battledriver, and In the Web of War, with Warstorm Surge and Purphoros, God of the Forge allowing them to deal damage immediately.

Tribal staples like Coat of Arms, Door of Destinies, and Vanquisher's Banner make these wizards even bigger, as well as lords like Adaptive Automaton, Metallic Mimic, Sage of Fables, Marchesa, the Black Rose, and Naru Meha, Master Wizard.

Wizards which become especially gamebreaking with their power increased include Disciple of Bolas, Champion of Wits, Dreamstealer, Cephalid Constable, and Profaner of the Dead. Thalakos Deceiver can deal nigh-unblockable damage with Shadow or sacrifice itself and its temporary copies to permanently steal creatures. Ghoulcaller Gisa can sacrifice a high-power creature to make many high-power Zombies. Elementals from Master of Waves and creatures reanimated by Puppeteer Clique also receive massively increased power.

Paradox Engine should generate surplus mana with a few mana rocks and some cheap spells in hand, and also make lots of Zombies with Ghoulcaller Gisa, bounce opponents' permanents with Venser, Shaper Savant, or simply burn opponents to death with Inalla, Archmage Ritualist's activated ability.

Inalla, Archmage Ritualist, Flameshadow Conjuring, and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker make more tokens to benefit from these effects, while Naban, Dean of Iteration and Panharmonicon multiply these effects (including the token-making triggers), so the damage potential gets ridiculous quickly. Note that Inalla, Archmage Ritualist needs to be on the battlefield for Naban, Dean of Iteration and Panharmonicon to provide even more extra copies of wizards. Naban's effect also affects himself when he enters the battlefield.

For even more triggers, Phyrexian Metamorph, Clever Impersonator, and Mirage Mirror can also copy Panharmonicon while Sakashima the Impostor can copy Naban, Dean of Iteration.

Two triggers from Trophy Mage can find Semblance Anvil and Adaptive Automaton to exile with the Anvil to make all creatures and artifacts cost less. Any more triggers can be used to find Cloudstone Curio, Ashnod's Altar, Coalition Relic, or Mirage Mirror. Trinket Mage similarly finds Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, and Aether Vial.

Master of Waves makes at least four Elementals since the copy also provides devotion.

Timestream Navigator with Inalla's eminence can give two extra turns by activating the token first, at an upfront cost of .

Marchesa, the Black Rose brings back nontoken creatures that died with +1/+1 counters for more triggers. With Metallic Mimic or Sage of Fables, the original Marchesa can be put into the graveyard, the hasty copy can attack, and then the original will be brought back at end of turn.

Dualcaster Mage + Twinflame makes infinite hasty Dualcasters. With Naban, Dean of Iteration or Panharmonicon, each Dualcaster Mage or Naru Meha, Master Wizard can copy the spells multiple times, so some of these copied Twinflames can target other creatures for infinite replication, even without Mirror Gallery to keep the copies of Naru alive.

Dualcaster Mage + Ghostly Flicker gives infinite flickers of the Dualcaster and a land to make infinite hasty Dualcasters. Ghostly Flicker can also flicker Dualcaster Mage or Naru Meha, Master Wizard and another creature if Warstorm Surge is in play for damage or Mana Echoes is in play to generate infinite mana to pay for all the token-making triggers from Inalla, Archmage Ritualist. Illusionist's Stratagem can only target creatures but can draw the entire library while flickering. The loop ends by selecting two permanents other than Dualcaster Mage or Naru Meha, Master Wizard.

Ashnod's Altar + Bloodline Necromancer can repeatedly reanimate and make infinite copies of Bloodline Necromancer or another Wizard. This only requires and another Wizard to start.

  1. If it's not already in the graveyard, sacrifice the reanimation target to Ashnod's Altar for .

  2. Cast Bloodline Necromancer for , reanimating the target, then sacrifice Bloodline Necromancer and the target to Ashnod's Altar for another .

  3. Pay for Inalla's eminence ability to make a token of the other Wizard.

  4. Pay for Inalla's eminence ability to make a token of Bloodline Necromancer, reanimating the original Bloodline Necromancer.

  5. Sacrifice the original Bloodline Necromancer and the target to repeat the cycle.

Glen Elendra Archmage + Metallic Mimic or Glen Elendra Archmage + Sage of Fables can persist indefinitely, allowing repeatable spell countering. Glen Elendra Archmage or Puppeteer Clique can also be sacrificed repeatedly to Ashnod's Altar for infinite mana and hasty flying Wizard tokens.

Cloudstone Curio + Timestream Navigator , Riptide Laboratory + Timestream Navigator , or Timestream Navigator + Venser, Shaper Savant grant infinite turns by bouncing and recasting the original Timestream Navigator and activating the copied Navigators from Inalla's eminence ability each turn.

Venser, Shaper Savant is a one card combo with Inalla, Archmage Ritualist in the command zone to repeatedly bounce permanents or spells for , since the original Venser can bounce itself while the token from Inalla's eminence can bounce the permanent or spell. With Aether Vial on four charge counters, this costs just to do once a turn. This gets even better with one or more of Naban, Dean of Iteration, Panharmonicon, or Flameshadow Conjuring for more bouncing, Vanquisher's Banner, or Kindred Discovery for card draw, Warstorm Surge for damage, Boltwing Marauder or Door of Destinies to pump other Wizards, and Paradox Engine for potentially unlimited casts.

Cloudstone Curio + Paradox Engine with a few mana rocks should allow infinite recasting of a cheap Wizard and making infinite hasty copies of that Wizard.

Aether Vial with Cloudstone Curio allows reusing a Wizard every turn.

When making or casting infinite Wizards, note that Kindred Discovery and Vanquisher's Banner are compulsory draw triggers which will lose the game once the library is empty.

Wanderwine Prophets is a one card combo for repeatable extra turns with Inalla, Archmage Ritualist in the command zone.

  1. Cast the original and pay to make a copy with Inalla's eminence ability

  2. Champion the original with the copy

  3. Attack with the hasted copy

  4. Sacrifice the first copy to its combat effect

  5. Return the original and pay to make a second copy with Inalla's eminence ability

  6. Champion the original again with the second copy

  7. Exile the second copy at the beginning of the end step

  8. Return the original and pay to make a third copy with Inalla's eminence ability

  9. Champion the original again with the third copy

  10. The third copy will last until the next turn's end step, so it can attack during the extra turn to continue the cycle.

However, this requires 9 mana and at least one opponent with no blockers, and doesn't give any more turns once the opponents with no blockers are defeated. Panharmonicon and Naban, Dean of Iteration will also prevent this combo as the championing triggers multiple times with insufficient merfolk to exile.

Riptide Director provides a repeatable Distant Melody but can be a very heavy upfront investment to use immediately. Azami, Lady of Scrolls also draws the same number but requires tapping Wizards, which can be a negligible cost with Paradox Engine. Vedalken AEthermage finds any other Wizard. Vedalken Archmage can draw multiple cards with cheap artifacts to play. Seafloor Oracle can draw quite a few cards if multiple copies or other Merfolk go unblocked. Corpse Augur works well against creature-heavy decks but needs to die rather than get exiled.

Dire Fleet Ravager can quickly bring all players down to less than half their life, which helps an aggro deck but can also be a double-edged sword. Ghitu Journeymage only hurts opponents.

Voidmage Prodigy and Patron Wizard can counter problematic spells. Mizzium Meddler can protect other permanents depending on the spell or ability.

Galecaster Colossus bounces any problematic permanents. Beguiler of Wills can steal quite a few creatures when copied with Inalla, Archmage Ritualist or Flameshadow Conjuring, or untapped by Paradox Engine.

Minion Reflector can make even more copies of creatures, which generates more mana than it uses with Mana Echoes. Strionic Resonator is cheaper to cast and can copy Inalla's eminence or other triggers but only works once a turn. Mirrorworks can copy creatures permanently with Mycosynth Lattice, and also copy Panharmonicon.

Mirror Gallery is really fun since it allows multiple copies of Naban to coexist, especially with Cloudstone Curio or Venser, Shaper Savant to bounce the original Naban and replay him to make even more copies, since each new copy of Naban triggers Ambuscade Shaman, Boltwing Marauder, Ogre Battledriver, In the Web of War, and Warstorm Surge an additional time.

Sundial of the Infinite turns the temporary hasty tokens from Inalla, Archmage Ritualist, Flameshadow Conjuring, and Twinflame into permanent tokens, although this deck doesn't usually need the tokens for more than a turn.

Quicksilver Gargantuan can make multiple bigger copies of Wizards, which is helpful for cloning Disciple of Bolas, Champion of Wits, Dreamstealer, Cephalid Constable, or Profaner of the Dead, and providing fodder for Ghoulcaller Gisa.

Polymorphous Rush can turn other creatures into copies of Ambuscade Shaman or Boltwing Marauder, or Naban, Dean of Iteration with Mirror Gallery, since just a few of them can make any subsequent Wizards lethal with Warstorm Surge.

Intruder Alarm and Faces of the Past can untap Wizards for more activated abilities.

Kindred Dominance should assure the dominance of Wizards on the battlefield.

Dowsing Dagger   could be good for ramp with small aggressive Wizards.

Urza's Incubator provides cost reduction to cast more Wizards each turn.

Whip of Erebos provides lifelink for racing and can recur Wizards from the grave while making hasty tokens.

Shared Animosity can increase the power of Wizards (and Zombies, Elementals, Orcs, Ogres, Dragons) if they attack together, but doesn't apply when entering the battlefield for cards like Disciple of Bolas, Champion of Wits, Profaner of the Dead, and Warstorm Surge.

Jhoira of the Ghitu can set up several of the more expensive permanents for a very explosive turn later on. Magus of the Mind and its tokens can also create Wizard armies out of nowhere, especially with cheap mana rocks or Paradox Engine to increase the storm count.

Arcane Adaptation, Xenograft, and Conspiracy could enable more creatures to benefit from Naban, Dean of Iteration and Inalla, Archmage Ritualist. Boltwing Marauder would become the Dragon Wizard it was meant to be, just like Dragon Mage. This would allow for a lot more copies of Ambuscade Shaman and Ogre Battledriver on the critical turn.

Good creatures to turn into Wizards for their effects are Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, Doomwake Giant, Phyrexian Ingester, Duplicant, Noxious Gearhulk, Sepulchral Primordial, Diluvian Primordial, Molten Primordial, Zealous Conscripts, Faerie Artisans, Rishadan Brigand, Thought-Knot Seer, Deepglow Skate, Palinchron, Godo, Bandit Warlord, Flamerush Rider, Siege-Gang Commander, Grave Titan, Rapacious One, Utvara Hellkite, Rune-Scarred Demon, Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, and Sphinx of Uthuun. Worldgorger Dragon would also exile all our other creatures and then the token from Inalla would exile the original bringing back the exiled creatures to repeat their effects and allow more copying by Inalla.

Adeliz, the Cinder Wind and Docent of Perfection   would be good in a version of this deck with more instants and sorceries, especially low CMC ones, along with Spellseeker, Jori En, Ruin Diver, Mizzix of the Izmagnus, Goblin Electromancer, Primal Amulet  , and Pyromancer's Goggles.

For similar decks, check out my Theros-Tarkir Standard deck Ambuscadewing Rabblementor, the 5C EDH upgrade of that Standard deck Valor in the Primal Web of Warstorm Crusade, my artifact copying and Panharmonicon-abusing deck Breya, Equipment Shapers Inc., and my Zur's Tribal Tribal deck with Wizards that are also Spirit Vampire Myr Sliver Zombie Knight Allies.
