First EDH deck I ever built. I spent a lot of time researching and looking around online along with some help and advice from friends, with even more donations. I differ from other Scion decks I've seen around with a couple more political and "group-hug" style cards to mix it up, along with not running the Moltensteel x Skittles combo just because its gross and really mean.

Because I'm new at the game a lot of my playstyle is just get Scion on the field and proceed to screw everyone's day over. If I even get that far. Playing Scion or any dragon really just paints a gigantic target onto my head if I'm in a tabletop game. As a result of that I'm looking to sort of transition him into a more Pillowfort style to be able to survive until I can get going, since most of my early game is just pray I don't get targeted.

Most of these cards I've actually just opened really or have been donated/traded for. That being said I'm not ready to dish out that much cash for fetch lands to make it go that much faster. That being said it still gets out of control very fast with just a handfull of things. A lot of my wincons just rely on one or two other things being on the field or in my hand, then just swinging with Scion and turning him into something to combo it out.

Also to all Scion players, right before your turn if you have Animated Dead in your hand, turn Scion into World-Gorger Dragon to instantly make the entire table glare at you. It's really fun.

Anyways, I'm looking for advice, cuts, additions, anything really since I'm pretty new at the game, and Scion has surprisingly been pretty cost efficient for me so far so I'd like to keep him that way. Also I have been trying to keep it a little flavorful to replace some high cost cards I didn't want to dish out for.

Edit 7/10/2017:Scion's grown up a little since becoming my first EDH deck. I've focused more on what I want him to do and have gotten better with what cards are good and belong in him and what don't. His new toys are Burgeoning , Traverse the Ulvenwald , Chromatic Lantern , and Rites of Flourishing to hopefully get the ramp going just a little bit faster in the first few turns. Having Burgeoning and Amulet of Vigor in your opening hand is amazing.

Mortify got replaced with Anguished Unmaking for a little bit of spot removal, Time Stop got added so I can make a Jojo's joke and stop an infinite from happening, and Word of Seizing to steal an opponent's planeswalker for when they are about to ult off, and then an End Hostilities to just get a board wipe in there.

Scion himself got some toys to hit people with to hopefully give him a bit more of an edge too. Whispersilk Cloak to give him the unblockable, Whip of Erebos to get dragons he's used already another swing at it one more time, and then Inquisitor's Flail to just make him do waaay too much damage and easily be able to swing out.

Right now the only things that he has trouble with is some protection for Scion himself, and giving him haste. The biggest additions that he needs are small 4 drop or less enchantments or creatures that can give him haste. Other than that and possibly a reworking of his lands he's in a pretty stable spot and has a decent winrate in my group.

Yes I saw the new 5 color premade and I want a lot of stuff from it but money. Anyways lets get to the updates.

First off Shard Convergence is S O G O O D. Even though I only have a couple dual lands its still strong as hell because of that to help me with fixing issues. And just in case that's not enough Fist of Suns aka the freaking Infinity Gauntlet is hilarious. Sure I'll have all my big boys sitting in my hand only cost 5.

Xenagos, God of Revels and Dragon Tempest to give some things that really need haste some haste. Also Xenagos is mean. I'm now shipping Xenagos and Scion just because of the amazing synergy they have. If Xenagos is out and Atarka hasn't been used yet that can be a OHKO.

Lastly I added the mother of all janky. I'm proud of myself for it even though I've gotten death threats for it. Ready? Tap 12 mana. Cast Worldgorger Dragon everyone of yours poofs. Then cast Jokulhaups. I call it the 12 mana scoop-o-matic. Either that or the 12 mana I get punched in the face because I'm a freaking brat.
