Unlike normal decks with token generators at the helm, this deck doesn't want to go wide. What it does want to do is make tokens out of all the best creatures on the board, and then abuse Trostani, Selesnya's Voice 's populate ability to keep pumping out those tokens. As a result, the deck is stuffed with the best creatures with ETB abilities I could find. There's a few ways to make token copies of your creatures, and a few more ways besides Trostani to populate your side of the field with them (pun intended). But don't stop at your own creatures. Do you wish you had access to that Massacre Wurm on the other side of the table? Don't worry, you do. In fact, you have access to fifty of them. There are a few effects that either make tokens of opposing creatures, or gain control of them so you can make tokens from your side. With a few cards for support, ramp and consistency, you'll be getting triggered all game long.

Note: Manabase is as few colorless lands as possible to cast Trostani most consistently. However, there are a few cards in this deck that need specifically colorless to activate, so I'm trying to find the right balance of colorless lands and colored lands.

ETB Creatures Show

All these creatures do something useful when they enter the battlefield, your goal is to make tokens of them and abuse their triggers as much as possible.

Acidic Slime : Utility card. Destroys a pesky artifact, enchantment or land, then can block something annoying.

Angel of Sanctions : Powerful removal effect. Embalm makes this card much easier to copy later on.

Armada Wurm : Gives you worms.

Avenger of Zendikar :
Makes lots of tiny tokens that can get bigger.

Knight of Autumn : I don't think I have to say anything about this one. It can be something different every time you populate it! :)

Craterhoof Behemoth : Game ender.

Duplicant : Straight up removal.

Eternal Witness : Gets something back.

Regal Force : Card advantage is good.

Solemn Simulacrum : Nice utility card, helps consistency with manabase.

Sun Titan : Gets something tiny back.

Verdurous Gearhulk : Puts lots of counters on lots of things.

Copy Makers Show

Use these copy effects to get copy tokens of almost any creature. Lots of the tokens made with these effects go away at the end of the turn, so make sure you have the mana to both make them and populate them in the same turn so they stick around.

Mirrorpool : Sacrifice to get a copy of any of your creatures. You only get one chance, so use it wisely.

Blade of Selves : Makes as many copies of your creature as there are players. Populate one of them to get a permanent copy.

Echo Chamber : Copies an opponent's creature. They get to choose which one however, so this is terrible against an opponent with mostly terrible creatures.

Mimic Vat : When something dies, you can make lots of copies of it for much cheaper than most of the effects here.

Soul Foundry : Still makes you pay the full cost for one of your own creatures, but with the added bonus of being able to populate it.

Soul Separator : A weird one-time card that can copy one of your creatures from the grave, but only as a 1/1. However, it does gain you 1 extra life off Trostani.

Seance : A sort of repeatable Soul Separator , but the token goes away at the end of the turn. This ability triggers at the beginning of EACH upkeep, so instant-speed populate works nicely.

God-Pharaoh's Gift : The absolute dream for our deck. When something of ours dies, we can get it back in token form with this, making it much easier to populate. Unfortunately, most of the creatures in our deck are downgraded by the 4/4 stats, but the potential for free ETB triggers is too big to turn down.

Copy Token Copy Makers Show

Copy the tokens you make that are copies of creatures.

Rhys the Redeemed : Can be an expensive populate ability as a last resort. Gets better the more copies you have. Also can pump out tiny tokens.

Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage : Similar to Rhys the Redeemed , but it's populate ability can be activated multiple times per turn for only one more mana than Trostani.

Wayfaring Temple : Can help populate a token that would otherwise die at the end of the turn, especially with Blade of Selves . Fun combo: Equip the Blade, attack, get the tokens, have each populate trigger hit itself, you are left with as many Temples as players you hit directly.

Rootborn Defenses : Save your creatures from combat or a board wipe, then make a new creature.

Sundering Growth : Cheap populate tacked onto a good enchantment/artifact removal effect.

Trostani's Judgement: Poor man's Path to Exile that -Surprise!- populates.

Growing Ranks : Populate every turn. Very nice.

Parallel Lives : Making a token? Why not make two tokens instead?

Anointed Procession : Parallel Lives but white.

Get Your Opponent's Creatures Show

These get the real version of your opponent's creatures. It's not a token, but it makes it a little easier to make it into one using one of the effects we have.

It That Betrays : If you can get to 12 mana, it is a very powerful creature that gives you whatever your opponent sacrifices. If you keep attacking, eventually you will get a good creature.

Evangelize : If you can afford to, wait until you have enough to pay the buyback cost. The card is bonkers at that point.

Helm of Possession : Sacrifice one of your smaller tokens or one that you can easily replace to gain control of something juicy.

Generic Token Makers Show

These cards make good tokens, but don't necessarily help any other part of the strategy. More or less filler for when you have absolutely nothing else to populate.

Crested Sunmare : This card is just funny, especially with Trostani out. Get any creature onto the battlefield every turn and you get a 5/5 indestructible for free. You can even get one on your opponent's turns by populating at instant speed.

Voice of Resurgence : Incredibly powerful token creator for only two mana.

Wurmcoil Engine : Another incredibly powerful token maker. Sacrifice to Helm of Posession for maximum value.

Storm Herd : Basically a win condition with all the life we will be gaining (P.S.: With Trostani out, this doubles your life total). You are almost guaranteed to win if the pegasi go unanswered.

Grove of the Guardian : Doesn't do much, but gains significant life off Trostani and serves as a colorless source.

Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree : Makes tiny tokens for chump blocking in a pinch. Another colorless source.

Ajani, Caller of the Pride : The first two abilities aren't very powerful for us, but the ultimate is where it's at with basically another Storm Herd . Can also be a win condition.

Ramp Show

Cards to ramp you into the big stuff quicker.

Burgeoning : Allows us to play lots of lands early game, which is what we like.

Birds of Paradise : Ramp and color fixer.

Sylvan Caryatid : Hard-to-remove Birds of Paradise .

Oracle of Mul Daya : Lets you play extra lands, and gets rid of lands off the top to get to gas quicker.

Selvala, Heart of the Wilds : Ramp and card advantage. What's not to like?

Chromatic Lantern : Mana rock with mana fixing.

Sol Ring : It's Sol Ring.

Awakening Zone : Makes tokens, and we like tokens. The tokens are colorless sources, and they can be populated in a pinch.

Heartbeat of Spring : We generally don't like helping opponents, but this is worth it. Eight mana on turn four is insane for us.

Mirari's Wake : Ramps us greatly, and boosts our creatures.

Karametra, God of Harvests : Gets us lands whenever we cast a creature spell, which we'll be doing a lot of. Also becomes a big indestructible beater.

Zendikar Resurgent : More expensive Mirari's Wake , but replaces any creature we cast.

Support Show

The rest of the cards all help support the theme in some way or another.

Hour of Revelation : One of the greatest sweepers in white yet. Hits problematic hexproof noncreature permanents.

Strionic Resonator : Can be used to copy an ETB effect, or to get more lifegain off of Trostani.

Courser of Kruphix : Less powerful than Oracle of Mul Daya , but smooths out our draws and gains us more life, which we like.

Eldrazi Displacer : Can bounce one of our real creatures for colorless mana to get its ETB effect without turning it into a token.

Hour of Reckoning : A board wipe that doesn't kill tokens is basically a one sided board wipe.

Swords to Plowshares : For when you really need the job done quick. The lifegain doesn't matter, they will be losing it quick enough.

Conjurer's Closet : Triggers one of your nontoken ETB creatures each turn for no cost.

Illusionist's Bracers : Double populate with Trostani.

Panharmonicon : Doubles every ETB effect you have. Absolutely insane.

Elspeth Tirel : Again, a board wipe that doesn't hit tokens. Can also make tokens herself.

Enlightened Tutor : Very cheap tutor that can get a lot of your artifacts/enchantments that are essential for copying creatures into tokens.

Endless Sands : Can save our nontoken creatures from removal in a pinch, then lets you bring them back later to get their ETB triggers again. I picked this over Safe Haven because Haven doesn't give us mana.
