Modern* 12-post Control Creatureless Mill Stax WU (Azorius)

wolfboy

Sideboard

I used to think that creatureless decks were weak, but now I know better. These supreme verdict control decks are awesome. This deck has two win cons.

  1. Your opponent mills themselves out one card per turn.
  2. Hit there faces with Faerie Conclave.

Here is the deck set up

MAIN DECK

~x4 Azorius Guildgate ~ the daul lands, kinda boring.

~ x1 Hallowed Fountain~ the "ouchie" land, but ask anyone how good it is, its $7 after all, and I only own one.

~x2 Faerie Conclave ~ another win con, attack for two enough times.

~x5 Island~ the "plain" mana.

~x5Plains~ more "plain" mana.

~x4 Halimar Depths~ a kind of mass scry.

~x4 New Benalia ~ my budget scrylands.

THE CREATURES, OOPS there are no creatures

THE INSTANTS

~x2 Anticipate~ lets me look for the cards I need, and is like jace architect's -2.

~x4 Azorius Charm~ giving creatures lifelink is kinda useless but cycling it can be valuable, and putting their attacking creature on top of their deck stalls them and you know what they will draw next. Plus its a charm, multiple choice on one card.

~x2 Celestial Flare ~ they sac their attacking card, and doesn't get stopped by hexproof creatures, can stop an attacking Fleecemane Lion that's monstrous in its tracks.

~x2 Overrule ~ this kinda acts like the lifegain part of Sphinx's Revelation and I can counter a spell, bonus points.

~x1 Path to Exile~ One of the best creature removals in magic.

~x4 Quicken~ definitely worth it, allows me to draw a card, and I can play a Supreme Verdict or Devastation Tide at instant speed.

~x3 Render Silent~ This card is to limit there early pressure, this deck is so slow that it needs this to slow them down.

~x4 Syncopate~ This is great any time in the game, whether to exile an annoying card like Bloodsoaked Champion or their game finisher, like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.

~x3 Unmake the more bulky creature removal. Thank you stephen for showing me this card. it costs the same in converted mana as Detention Sphere, and it exiles it.PERMANENTLY.

THE PLANESWALKERS

~x1 Venser, the Sojourner~ his +2 is amazing, exile a land to scry, or gain life, or even himself. And the final is good game, I can cast so many spells.

THE SORCERY'S

~x2 Planar Cleansing ~ One of the staples of the deck, board wipe, and it catches the enchantments too. The only downside is that it can get your planeswalkers.

~x4 Supreme Verdict~ the star card of the deck, just Quicken it and their creatures are all dead before the can say "Goblin Guide".

~x2 Mind Spring~again, this is my replacement for Sphinx's Revelation.

THE ARTIFACTS

~x1 Elixir of Immortality~ This gives you 5 life, which helps keep you alive, and you get all your graveyard back which keeps you from running out of cards to draw.

This is a fun deck to play, but its a little slow, against the speedy agro decks it gets down to 10 life before it gets in control. This deck was inspired by the deck that Ivan Floch won the 2015 pro tour with.

Any suggestions to make it better are welcome. Don't forget to +1.

Updates Add

Thanks to lcucc1 I have found out a certain combo of making my creatures indestructible, and now I can add in creatures and not worry about my own boardwipes killing them, I also found that Ajani's Presence would work better than Ephemeral Shields but thanks a lot to lcucc1.
