Hey folks, here is my Modern deck. I wanted to play white in modern, I was enjoying blue in my delver control deck and I didn't want to play the typical expensive U/W control...so this is where I ended up.
The Win conditions: Sphinx's Tutelage and Luminarch Ascension. Tutelage is a powerful mill engine. Luminarch is a great stall-the-game card and works well with our fog machine.
The Key Components: Ethereal Haze, Holy Day, Dawn Charm creates our fog machine to hold off the opponent. This stops things like Infect, Boggles and anything that revolves heavily around creature damage.
Dictate of Kruphix and Howling Mine are essential because without them we run out of cards and fog fuel very quickly.
The Toolbox: Remand is great at stalling your opponent, Swan Song fits great to protect my win cons and spells targeting me while the downside of a 2/2 flier is nothing in the fog. Serum Visions is the best cantrip in Modern right now and helps greatly.
The Sideboard: Grand Abolisher may not be super popular sidebaord, but I love him for shutting down counters and tricks on my turn.
Ivory Mask is a budget version of Leyline of Sanctity and will be switched out if I can get some. Hexproof is huge against burn.
Path to Exile is the best spot removal in Modern and against fast aggro are irreplaceable.
Rest in Peace I really love this card, suck it Snapcaster Mage and Scavenging Ooze.
Spell Pierce are great against burn, control and usually stops Chalice of the Void which can be a huge problem for this deck.
Swan Song is perfect for this deck and comes in against decks with enchantment removal. Most of the time I wouldn't recommend it but this deck is already built around stopping creatures so it essentially provides no downside.
