Ideally this Modern Deck Would be Epic

Pre-club night adjustments —May 2, 2016

Another Modern week approaches and whilst I've been seeing some decent success with my Sliver deck I thought I'd go back and have another go with this deck.

With that in mind I've done some tinkering and balanced the mana-base slightly. I still can't settle on which counterspells to run with though. In the time I've had this deck it has run Delay, Remand, Mana Leak and Rune Snag in various combinations and I still can't decide which works the best. If anyone has any thoughts on that particular aspect I'd be interested to hear them.

You might enjoy trying to Reverberate and Twincasting Enduring Ideal. Now I might be wrong, and if so and if someone corrects me on this I'll bring it up at my EDH playgroup, but the epic trigger is on the resolution of the spell meaning that not only can you still cast spells while the epic spell is still on the stack but also, in the case of reverberate or twincast, you'll get multiple epic triggers. These spells are also a good way to get around control players as you can easily counter their spells also (since you have red) Vexing Shusher.

Doesn't Night of Souls' Betrayal wipe out your Cleric tokens?

Swapped Night of Souls' Betrayal back into the sideboard, as correctly pointed out it doesn't work well maindecked alongside Heliod, God of the Sun. Not sure how I ever thought that would be a good idea.

Cheers!
