This deck is highly influenced by http://www.cardconfidants.com/that-snow-commander-winter-edition/.

I took his "mirror theme" to make more snow abilities and decided to run with it under the concept of copying other people's fields. He lost out a good amount of the concept of changelings allowing you to keep the snow effect. I do not pay into as much of the upkeep counters as he does. As such this is not a true snow, but I liked the idea of looking out on a frozen pond and seeing a distorted version of yourself. The commander does not entirely play into the flavor of this deck, but at least sticks with the copy or control theme.

Explanation:

The point of this deck is to copy other player's fields and prevent them from casting spells. This deck is also designed to stand on its own if you want to simply copy your own creatures. It is highly experimental and looking for lots of critique.

Combos/tools:

1. Mirror any creature or artifact a person controls to add abilities to your field using the various creatures that can copy artifacts/creatures.

2. Make copies in the form of tokens using Progenitor Mimic, Spitting Image, Mimic Vat, etc. Use the various populate spells to them spam out copies of those tokens.

3. The classic Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage to spawn in a 20/20 creature

4. The snow abilities spoke about in the above link

5. Changeling shenanigans

6. Better creature enters the battlefield? Conjurer's Closet.

7. Rimewind Cryomancer + Cover of Winter = skip the cumulative upkeep for 1 mana. Meaning you can then tap snow and add age counters all you want in one turn than from that point only use 1 mana per turn to keep it up; rather than 1 mana for each age counter. Please note the rulings that X damage is for each source. So if you got up to 5 age counters, and infinite 5/5 tokens attack you, all of them would be unable to damage you as long as you control Rimewind Cryomancer or a token copy of her using the changelings. This also applies to each damage step caused by first strike.

8. The above ability can also can be done with Glacial Plating or Jotun Owl Keeper, but to increase their age counters you need Rimefeather Owl to add them on, or wait a turn and be willing to sink some mana.

9. Rimewind Taskmage or Squall Drifter + Centaur Omenreader = now each creature spell will cost 2 less.

10. Adarkar Valkyrie + Jotun Owl Keeper = tokens when ever you want, over and over.

11. Ohran Viper + Adarkar Valkyrie = steal anything with power 3 or less each turn, or steal one big thing at random. Alternately use Adarkar Windform to steal any creature with flying for 2 mana. Use a changeling and another taping creature to quickly make them cost 4 less, or even more if you have enough taping and copy creatures.

12. Tempt with Discovery is rude to people who do not know your deck. You only need one person to get Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage.

13. A bit of politics here, but Gelid Shackles someone's creature, and then barter with them to give them a snow land using Rimefeather Owl so said creature is still able to block. I doubt anyone would go for this, but you never know.

14. Not sure if this would work on a ruling but use Balduvian Frostwaker to make a land a creature. Kill said land creature, then use Mimic Vat to put a token copy of it in play. From there you can now make token land creatures over and over with populate based abilities for mana ramp. I looked around and could not find any decent rulings on this. The best I can find is "when a awakened land is a creature, it dies as a creature" which means you could copy it. This seems like a cheating system though as you could suddenly spam out mana as much as you want.

15. I am new to magic so if you see any more let me know

Again please give suggestions. I like novelty decks, and play mostly casual. I would like this deck to at least have a fighting chance. As for cost, snow lands are the sink, otherwise it is close to a budget deck.
